'17 TN ATH Jacoby Stevens (LSU commit)

“I’m excited to see what Tennessee is going to do,” Stevens said Monday before winning Tennessee’s Class 6A Mr. Football back award. “Like I said, I haven’t signed my papers yet, so Tennessee could make a big turnaround. We’ll see what happens.

“I never just say no to an official. If I’m invited to take an official visit, I’m going to take it. So if Tennessee just thinks they can change my mind on an official, I’d be glad to take it.”
-Callahan

I would think you'd have him visit if nothing else.

Kid could probably be a very versatile starter on our defense day one. If anything pitch to him that he has the best opportunity to play early for us. Hopefully we see a Richmond type flip with Stevens

as Callahan said have him visit if nothing else. You just never know for certain. Certainly would not get my hopes up nor am I ready to jump back in Butch' corner but my oh my if Butch orchestrated additions to this class of: Trey Smtih, Jacoby Stevens, Cam Akers, Yusuf Corker, DeAngelo Gibbs and another stud DT that would sure be amazing and take some of the sting away from losing to USCjr & Candy.

Yes, I realize I'm dreaming but the fact that Jacoby even came out & said what he did caught me off guard as cold as he has been to TN. However, as talented as Jacoby is he has to realize there is a VERY GOOD CHANCE he starts at UT next year.

What does he mean by "I'm excited to see what Tennessee is going to do"

I'm not sure either, but it almost has to be either referencing our bowl game, recruiting in general, or coaching changes. As in Willie Mart. This could all be false hope BS, but honestly, it's provided a much needed breathe of positivity in the midst of an otherwise dreary period of time.

Always heard mixed reviews on Martinez. Players and some recruits swear by him but you get the Gibbs and Stevens general stiffarm. I expressed a desire for Terry Fair to return last season but I think it was LWS that stated that CWM was untouchable. Maybe that changed with the defensive thud this season.

Update: He still ain't coming here.

Really, why would you say this? You do not know for sure wh..at he is going to do unless you are Jacoby himself or maybe one of his siblings.

Why is it when anything even remotely positive is stated, there is always someone there to throw a damper on the subject? You guys seem to love to live in the gutter

It's out of concern for their fellow posters. They don't want us to get our hopes up, only to be let down in the end. A voice of reason. So it's really them doing a public service..... right?

I'd love to see him and Warrior on the back end next year. Hopefully, Shoop can sell him on his dream and vision. Show him how he can he can ensure him of success in his system and ultimately get him to the NFL one day.
