'17 TN ATH Jacoby Stevens (LSU commit)

Yes it is true. It is very similar to the way Phil Fulmer was thought of the last 2-3 years here in Knoxville.

I would strongly disagree and I live here and have a decent amount of insight here. The donors love him, even after the Clemson loss.

That being said, he loses to Texas again this year... all bets are probably off.

Well I don't live there but I've read this several times over the last few years. Maybe it's been after a loss. I also read it recently when he was mentioned as a candidate for the LSU job.

The media isn't a big fan of stoops out here because he doesn't love doing the media tours and the interviews. But the people that count, donors and senior staff love him.

This was national media, can't recall who recently. But he has 4 more potential losses on his schedule this year and if he goes 2-2 in those that will put him at 8-4 of the year. I could see the natives getting restless.

Question on 247:

Do you think we could get back in with jacoby Stevens or get in with any LSU commits?

Callahan's response:

Stevens still looks like a long shot at best. I would be pretty surprised if he ended up taking a hard look at Tennessee. Something would have to change pretty significantly, even if he decided to look around.

I'm thinking Bob Stoops, in the end.

Herman won't bite.
Petrino won't
Too early on Briles
Dabo has the cupboard stocked, and likely going to stocked Bama when that time comes.

Who is higher on their list, Kiffin or Stoops? That's where it will begin to shake out

And if it's stoops, OK goes all in for Herman

If Herman wouldn't bite at LSU..then why would he bite at Okie?

We have more wins last year and this year than they do. I think you're trying too hard.

Not trying particularly hard at all. Pointing out that Kelly is a damn good QB who's scored 54 tds in 17 games at Mississippi....while winning 12 of those 17 games. Go back to nagging/stalking some more on d1Conely would ya.

KB can't help it. He can't stand our coaches or our qb

What are you nuts? I love Josh Dobbs, just think there are better qbs in the country and that Kelly is better. I was one of his few defenders here when he was a freshman and I've said over and over that he's quite possibly the best "face of the program" that Tennessee has ever had.

As far as Jones is concerned, I've praised him over and over again for rebuilding the program and all that's involved in doing so....from recruiting to APR to promotion to increasing wins on the field to repairing relationships, etc, etc. I've criticized him for two things .... his history of poor gameday management/coaching (an opinion widely shared by many) and what I personally think has been his tendency toward excuse making and double speak in his pressers. Jmo.

It's absolutely wrong to say I can't stand Josh Dobbs, that's ridiculous and you won't find post from me where I've ever said I couldn't stand him or did anything but give an honest opinion about his play on-field. At times I'm certainly not the biggest fan of some of Jones' methods and I think he should've already replaced Azzani as our WRs coach. If you think that constitutes my "not standing them", well that's just your uninformed opinion.

Wouldn't have to play Bama annually
Avoid brutal SEC schedule, easier path to playoffs
Closer fit culturally to Texas, which is what he reportedly prefers
Offensive weapons in place, whereas LSU hasn't had a QB in a decade
BBQ>crawdads

A few reasons

So watching UF game again...Malone is dominating out there. Reminds me of meach's last year. We knew really quick that he was gonna have a big year...same feeling here.

I would never want a coach that doesn't want to play the best. Anyways I don't think they think like what you said.

Good reasons I guess. So now that the SEC is the best...Good coaches are afraid of taking a job in the SEC? As far as culturally goes, SE Texas has more in common with Louisiana than it does Okie. Texas is as culturally diverse as it is geographically diverse. But those are good points, if he is afraid of the competition. I agree though, I would much rather live in Oklahoma. But I grew up on the plains of the Texas panhandle..it is close to home to me.
