“It feels great and I’m really honored to be able to come and play and participate in this game and be coached by some of the coaches that have been there and done that,” Gray said, “and play against the best players in the country. It’s a great feeling, honestly.”

“I just feel like it’s the place for me. It feels like home, and the coaches treat me like family and already a part of the team,” Gray explained. “The players treat me like I’m family. I’ve either played with or played against a lot of those guys so I know them personally. My family will be able to come watch me. It just feels like it’s the place for me.”

Despite his long-standing commitment to the Vols’, others schools haven’t stopped their pursuit. That includes Florida State and the Seminoles are hoping to host him for an official visit this next month but as of right now Gray is leaning towards not making that visit. “I kind of planned to take one to Florida State, but I think I’m going to cut that one,” Gray said. “It’s just up in the air. I just feel solid with Tennessee.”

Gray did say the reasons he has contemplated a visit to Tallahassee is because of the relationships he has with FSU, but he added it’s not like Tennessee. “They’ve been there, just like Tennessee has, since Day 1. When I went down there I felt a good vibe with the players. But, I haven’t been there enough, like I have at UT, so I can’t feel the same way about FSU like I do about UT.”

Fortenberry talked with Gray...

"Tennessee commitment Maleik Gray said he's taking his official visit on January 13 to Tennessee. I asked him about an FSU visit and he said he has had one tentatively on the schedule but said right now he's unlikely to take it. Didn't rule it out, but right now leaning towards not taking it."

aka coaches are talking him out of it, thank goodness

It's all about how the questions are asked and how the interview is steered.

Eff Florida state. They finished 3rd in their division and think they're football gods. ACC fans have become so obnoxious. Their 2nd best team lost to Kentucky a few weeks ago but they act like the ACC has become some premier football conference, it's pathetic.
