It feels great and Im really honored to be able to come and play and participate in this game and be coached by some of the coaches that have been there and done that, Gray said, and play against the best players in the country. Its a great feeling, honestly.
I just feel like its the place for me. It feels like home, and the coaches treat me like family and already a part of the team, Gray explained. The players treat me like Im family. Ive either played with or played against a lot of those guys so I know them personally. My family will be able to come watch me. It just feels like its the place for me.
Despite his long-standing commitment to the Vols, others schools havent stopped their pursuit. That includes Florida State and the Seminoles are hoping to host him for an official visit this next month but as of right now Gray is leaning towards not making that visit. I kind of planned to take one to Florida State, but I think Im going to cut that one, Gray said. Its just up in the air. I just feel solid with Tennessee.
Gray did say the reasons he has contemplated a visit to Tallahassee is because of the relationships he has with FSU, but he added its not like Tennessee. Theyve been there, just like Tennessee has, since Day 1. When I went down there I felt a good vibe with the players. But, I havent been there enough, like I have at UT, so I cant feel the same way about FSU like I do about UT.
