17' TN DB Chris Bell (UT commit 1/14/17)

Kid is a long lanky kid beautiful physique and decent athleticism. The kid plays Wr and S. He was hurt by the tssaa and their dumb rules. He started out @ PJP left and got bad advice from a trainer and went to East was ruled ineligible so he went bk to PJP. He was their team mVp this year but was not a world beater by any means but is a great kid who comes from good stock. Honestly I personally don't know if this will stick because he has scholarship offers from mid majors who could sway him due to money and a real scholarship. Also Muschamp has told him his offer there is commitable.

If South Carolina has given him a real offer, I doubt he is a pwo.

"Athlete Chris Bell from Pope John Paul has been invited to be a walk-on for Tennessee. At 6-foot-3 and close to 200 pounds, it's a solid add for the walk-ons."

What's the story with this guy? With those measurable I would think he would have some better offers. Heck, stick him at WR

Apparently he's only played 1 year of football according to 247. Maybe we're getting a guy who will develop into a player for us. Looks like a good athlete.

Three-star senior safety Chris Bell of Pope John Paul II High School in Hendersonville, Tenn., announced Saturday afternoon on his Twitter account that he has committed to Tennessee as a preferred walk-on.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Bell previously had reported scholarship offers from South Carolina, Miami (Ohio), Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, Tennessee-Martin, Mercer, Jackson State and Lindenwood University.

Watching his highlights, he doesn't appear to be blessed with great speed. Could be that's what kept him from getting better offers. He definitely looks solidly built.

I'm thinking receiver is in his future. Or put on a good bit more weight and make him a TE
