Whats the deal with this kid? I've casually oserved this thread from the beginning and it seemed initially like there was significant interest in us...then he committed - what seemed like out of no where - to Oregon...now it kinda has that anywhere but tennessee vibe.

Did we slow play him? (Don't know why we would with the need at the position). This one just feels weird. Someone enlighten me please.

If I remember correctly we saw him more as a guard and he wanted to play defense.

He is just playing the recruiting game until Rutgers offers......

from what I understood, UT was his #1 and told others so but he really liked Oregon. Then viola, they offer. He didnt think he'd get an offer at all. Keep in mind that while the initial recruiting was going on (and really all the way up til they offered), Oregon was a hot team so it makes sense he wanted to go there.

Finally, on the defensive line, the Vols are still looking at a number of options. Of course there's Matthew Butler and Aaron Sterling but it seems Rutger Reitmaier is a more realistic option.

Michigan offered this week and there's a good chance he visits Ann Arbor before the end of the season and Ohio State is getting involved as well so that one will be interesting to see down the stretch.
