'17 TN DL Rutger Reitmaier (Oregon commit)

Weird kid

I don't know. I think he just feels he fits in there in hippieland better. I love the NW myself. I would love to live there. Other places I would think about going if it was me, and I had the opportunity. Colorado or Colorado st, Utah, Cal or Stanford, Boise st, Montana Arizona or Zona st. I love the west.

Me too. I've vacationed out west many times. I could live almost anywhere Colorado and west. Maybe not the LA or SF areas.

Truckee/Tahoe area for me. You can have the rest including anything on the coast. But if I'm going west, I'm doing the flyover to Maui.

I think this kid just really likes Oregon, I can respect that. I wish he would have given us the time of day, but at least he didn't play any BS games with us and just committed to where he wants to be.

Exactly. Kid wants to get away and experience something different. Good luck to him.

He doesn't know the definition of "officially"

I wondered what he meant. I don't know what he is signing on that picture. There is was a process where a student signs for a grant (or something) that more or less locks him into the school, if not the team. I don't recall the details, but it did cause a rule change a couple of years ago.

Or maybe it's just his Nike contract.

Financial Aid papers. They lock the school into taking a player and allow for unlimited contact. Player can choose to go elsewhere but usually doesn't.

Someone can correct me if I have misspoke.

That's still not "officially" signing with a school. He can sign as many of those he wants. He has zero obligations to the school.

Not the same

I agree but I thought they closed that loophole and kids are only allowed to sign FA papers with one school.

That's what I was thinking, that athletes were using these to commit the school to himself but it wasn't reciprocal. They did change the rule I think. But, yes, this is not officially signing. I was just speculating on what he signed to prompt the tweet.
