'17 TN K Brent Cimaglia (UT signee)

But...but.. I thought we had something special? :cray:

You give me up to this...this.... kicker? You know how weird they can be.

I want your opinion guys. Any chance at all we let this K go as one of the 2017 commits that we kick to the curb? I don't think we will because we need a K because Medley will be gone in two years. I say we keep him even though he's only a 2* recruit. What's everybody else's opinion?

Star rankings are pointless to look at for kickers. Something like the Kohls kicker rankings are more useful.

Just what I was told, so don't shoot the messenger. A guy I work with said that a coach in that area said that the kid has talent as a kicker, no doubt. But has a ME attitude. Does only what he want to do and that's it. Just what I was told by a reliable source.

How the **** can a kicker have a "Me" attitude? He's a damn kicker! The dude plays at most 10 snaps. You can't even develop a narcissistic attitude

Was told he practices kicking when he wants to, does no working out with the team, and just had an overall bad attitude. Didn't want to put that out there, but it is what I was told. Do you think a kid that is good at something, even if it's a small thing, can't have a me attitude?

A kicker in football? No. On the teams I played on, he'd be reminded he's a kicker and needs to sit down before he gets dropped. No offense volatil.

I mean he CAN have a me attitude but it'd be nixed when he's around the team. Just my experience

Like I said before, this is only what I was told. Me personally, when I played, NO kicker would ever have any attitude except what we allowed him to have or he'd have his a$$ handed to him.

Most programs around here allow the kickers to basically practice on their own separate of the team. Jr kicked on the game field while the team practiced on the practice field. He showed up at a certain time that coach designated for STs and left after. The team continued to practice.

Just the way it is. HS coaches rarely emphasize the kicking game but they hope and pray the kicker hits the game winner.

Also kicking is year round. Camps and private coaches. Burned my kid out.

Haha my kicker son is 6'2" 230 and a beast in the weight room. That a$$ would be difficult for anyone to hand to him.

That's awesome! Bet you are proud of him! You got to know though that a football TEAM that has player leadership, CAN and WILL keep a player with attitude in check if needed. I know we see less of this these days, but that's definitely how it use to be.

Who cares, I don't care if he ever says a word to a teammate the whole time he is here, as long as he doesn't blow a kick in a critical moment and makes a game winner or two I'm good. Kickers are not real people anyway.

I was recruited to kick my senior year of high school because the special teams coach was also the soccer coach at my school. He came to me like 2 weeks before the first game and asked me to kick because they didn't have a kicker. I pretty much did whatever I wanted to during practice for the most part. Kicked and punted a few balls here and there and just sat around until they needed me for special teams drills. I never had to work out with the team if I didn't want to, but I did. And I ran sprints at the end of practice with them just so they knew I was faster than them all. They just didn't take special teams very seriously (and were not a good team). I only attempted 3 field goals the whole year they would just go for it on 4th down most of the time. I did have to punt a lot that year though.

This guy was the kicker at Chattanooga Baylor while my brother's son played there. He's a cool, funny kid. He's had some big kicks for Wisconsin. Right now, he's nursing a back injury.

I'm still not sure why we chose to recruit Medley instead of Gaglianone. He's fearless and has a big leg. Medley seems to melt under pressure.

Aaron was the number 1 kicker in the nation. Wilhoit was training Medley, Gaglianone, and Wunderlick (Ole Miss kicker). All Tennessee kids, all Seniors the same year. Wilhoit has great influence at UT.

I'm sorry to hear that. I've prayed for yall... like once but still. lol. hope all the successes comes Jr's way.
Dude this just blows me away. I'm so thankful for people like you. Trust me, this is much needed and greatly appreciated. This has been a very difficult year from several aspects. Again, thank you.

Now how bout this kicker? Really good.

I know. It's amazing. I guess you can evaluate the leg but not the stones. Medley is hard to watch in a pressure situation.

A note on this kid. He was rated lower than most of the kickers all during the season & up until the last ratings/rankings updates.

He went from being the #26th ranked K in the country from season start to the #3rd ranked K overall in the country in his final bump
. That's pretty impressive.

Once Medley is gone hopefully we will have a pretty solid kicker in Cimaglia. Kicking has cost us some games in the past few years & it's time we get a K that we can trust. Hopefully this guy is the one. Thanks!
