I'm not an insider by any means but do come in contact with his family, dad , uncle, ect. And they claim they do not ask trey where he is going just let him feel out the schools and make his own decision. With that being said his uncle thinks Tennessee. The family are vol fans and I can tell that's where they want him to go, but ultimately its up to trey. Butch is doing a great job and I think he is slated for another sit down with butch soon so I hope that is a good sign. Again I have no more knowledge of the situation as anyone else that could ask the family what the low down is.
It helps that his sister went to UT and worked with the Lady Vols. This is the kind of recruit that Butch doesn't lose.
I find it interesting that many on the top of that list are "non skill" position. Noticed several Offensive tackles particularly. Usually it is the Qbs, Rbs, and Wrs at the top of those list.
ESPN has gone this direction lately. If you watch their Recruiting Nation tv show on ESPNU, they mention that they place a premium on the positions that are hardest to find. LT, DT, DE, and CB.
Tom Luginbill says you can find RBs and WRs everywhere. But big-time left tackles or shut down corners are rare. And the reason they never have QBs rated high is because they are so hard to evaluate.
With all of this talent signing on early, it makes me nervous that some of the other local talents won't get in under the wire.
I haven't followed this year as much as previous, so those followers can help me understand this better.
Surely we'll save room for Trey and 1 or 2 more in states.
Help me feel better about filling our list up.
