'17 TN RB Cordarrian Richardson (Clemson commit)

I wanted Richardson because his size and I felt in a couple of years he could be a force for us.

It has to irk Butch that Clemson has come in and taken these recruits regardless if they aren't "good" like some of you claim.

The only way we have a great class this year IMO, is if we win the SEC and/or get into the playoff. This is our best year to do it.

-Bama has tons of talent of course but no proven QB and RB(s)

-Florida lost key defensive players and do not have Grier

-Georgia poses the biggest threat if Lambert becomes a major threat

-A&M is plummeting

-Mizzou has no offense

Which one of you fellers was on the news? Huh?

So I am kinda wondering why this lawsuit would hurt football recruiting? Are football players being sexually assaulted?

I agree. I don't think allegations of a culture conducive to blah blah registers on the radar of a 17 year old. Further, the kids and parents are talking with CBJ and getting info that isn't in the papers. A parent or player might ask what kind of people are there now and will get a very positive and specific answer. If we have trouble recruiting, this isn't the reason unless someone thinks a coach's job is at risk, and it clearly isn't.

The parents would be the ones who were most concerned. Those who are concerned may push their kids away from here

I said "Right now" , it probably won't factor as much later

Exactly. Why some refuse to understand this is baffling. Nobody is saying that the orogram is permanently damaged or this class is doomed. Only that the lawsuit is having an immediate impact on recruiting. Not long term impacts.

Also, if we do end up losing Richardson then its a loss that stings, nothing really else to say. Pretending it wouldnt is just ignoring reality imo.

what parents of a football player would steer clear because of this lawsuit? I mean seriously? Concerned about what? That their kid is going to rape somebody and get away with it?

That the overall culture of the team isn't healthy. That a team where this kind of thing happens isn't an enviroment a parent wants their child playing and living in.

Do not agree. I wish we could take a poll to see how it really affects parents and potential recruits. My guess is very little. Now the media and some on here want it to but in this overblown, over stimulated culture I don't see much of an impact big picture.

I'm sure opposing coaches are over stating the severity of the lawsuit. They're probably equating it to the Penn State situation where the NCAA could get involved and levy penalties.

We have a better environment than any other team...they don't have the Tennessean.

There's no way good Christian men like dabo and Hugh are doing that! (Blue font)

Specific examples would help your case. Name a player who committed elsewhere or refused to take coach's calls because of this. I don't think there are any. I'm not trying to be argumentative. I just think the hype around this case fades quickly with the tiniest bit of scrutiny.

Well hey, at least we got that two star TE. Butch needs to get this s*** straightened out. I never thought I would see Clemson come and wreck us in the volunteer state in recruiting.

Is it affecting LSU's recruiting?

I'm not making a case in just throwing an idea out there to try to explain why we've lost some recruiting momentum. I would bet a lot of money though that there's some serious negative recruiting going on against us because what else is someone going to use? We've got top notch facilities, a potential super star coach, tons of talent, and a promising future. this negative pub is easy to use against us especially with parents. They don't want to send their kid somewhere where they think the kid will get in trouble

I don't think the parents of recruits like the idea of a lawsuit, rape culture, and the very serious Drae Bowles accusations against Butch Jones being thrown around one bit. You already know other coaches are using all of this as well against us. The entire month of February was Tennessee in the media being blasted. It certainly doesn't help. Now, we need a few months to go by with no new reports and stories coming out and we will be fine. The sky is not falling, but this is a bump in the road for the time being.

I cant believe I have to say every ^&^%$ year...its 11 MONTHS TILL SIGNING DAY YOU IMPATIENT LITTLE MENTAL IMPS!

This lawsuit is already yesterday's news. CBJ has a different strategy this year let it play out! Watch us win the East and Clemson will be grabbing shirt tails as they run west over the Smokies!

You guys complaining about an underrated tight end who had 19 TOUCHDOWNS AS A JUNIOR in 4A Louisiana ball need to go watch "The Day After" again because you are convinced the world is ending...

And now back to the negative press ladies...

oh and "rape culture."

Really? Is that a thing?

I guess you have been in prison because that's the only place that is a thing.
