'17 TN RB Cordarrian Richardson (Clemson commit)

Most of it is about education. As in, educating the parents as to what is actually going on. That's the problem with society. We, and yes, me included, read an article or listen to the media and assume things as true. That's not the case. You have to do your own research.

As an attorney, I know what allegations are. I also know that UT is not any worse than any other school in this country. These recruits' parents need to be educated. Unfortunately, it won't happen for everyone, and again, they will believe what other coaches are saying.

As a parent, I would do my homework. I would look at statistics. Like how UT is 3rd in this state in forcible sex crimes ( behind MTSU and Memphis). Ranked 9th in the SEC (but, but the culture).

The difference is, the other schools do not have a lawsuit against them. This is a national issue not a UT issue.

I love my child and would do anything to protect him. I would not allow the media to dictate any decision as big as picking where he attends college. I form my own opinions.

I would absolutely allow my child to attend college in Knoxville.

Very well thought out answer to this question, and I agree completely. while the spotlight is on us there are a lot of other schools that are way worse.

It's their parents that might be influenced by the lawsuit. They might suggest a differ school while this crap is going on.

If your kid had a UT offer right now , would it cross your mind?

It would mostly cross my mind from a "will this coach be here for my son's 4 years" kind of way. I'd definitely look into and see what I thought about that.

Of course, the 2016 season will likely have more to do with how much longer Butch is around than the Title IX lawsuit anyway. At least for 2-3 years.

No. The actual stats contradict the medias label. I wouldn't be worried. I'm not one of those liberal media has an agenda type but I don't trust the media as much as I used to. The Peyton story is merely a microcosm of its incompetence.

If you want the instate kids to value staying instate you can't skip years recruiting the state. Its just not going to work. Lots of high 3* and 4* TN kids were passed on or ignored altogether in the 2016 class. Thinking it wasn't going to play a negative role in future instate recruiting was naive. I think we are seeing it now.

So we had lots of four star Tennessee kids that we ignored, in the 2016 class?!?

I'm a parent of a female JR at UT and an officer. I am much, much more worried about her on her way to school than on campus. When she lets me know she has arrived back at school I know she's safe again.
As an officer I can tell you with 100% certainty these kids are much safer on campus than they are walking the streets of almost any city.

I have a freshman daughter and a sophmore son, both at UT and I agree.. This 'lawsuit' has not caused me to worry one bit!

I have friends with daughters up there. They are not concerned any more than what any other parent with a daughter away at college is right now.

I've got a daughter over there now. She commutes from him now but she spent her first two years over there, freshman year in a dorm and sophomore year in an apartment right off campus designed for students. I wasn't concerned any more than normal about her safety. I was a little more concerned when she moved off campus. My daughter isn't a party girl, out all hours of the night.
