'17 TN TE LaTrell Bumphus (UT signee)

Oh but he has returned kicks before lol. Has a KR TD in Jr highlights. Kid is a one man army over there

He is a good one! A great kid as well. He will probably wind up being a TE though imo. He is going to need to get stronger and be more physical! I think he will be a great one by the time he leaves UT!

"Bumphus had six tackles, four sacks and two tackles for loss on defense. On offense he had five carries for 35 yards and three touchdowns and a catch for 12 yards in Hardin County's 34-7 win over Ripley. Next up is Obion County."

Another Derek Barnett maybe? :) Really, he may end up being better on defense than playing TE.

I believe we are recruiting him as a DE. Coach Strip seems to be his main contact in his recruitment, at least I've read that. On 247 sports he's ranked .8718 as a DE, so I would think he would play there for us. Sounds like he's a hell of an athlete so maybe he might get a look at TE, but for next year we've got Ethan Wolf, Eli Wolf, Austin Pope, Devante Brooks, Andrew Craig, Will Jumper and commit Chase Rogers. Pretty deep there.

"Bumphus also baked a plate of cookies, taught a dog to read, made a diorama of Andrew Jackson's second duel and finally found out what was making that noise in the roof (pigeon nest)"

Watched him play last night for the first time. He is an impressive looking athlete. I wasn't impressed with his motor on defense, but he wasn't playing a team that would inspire a lot of effort to win. I was really impressed with his offensive skills. He seemed to have really good hands and ball skills when he had the ball. I'm not sure he even got touched on one of his catches for a TD even though guys seemed to have the angle to tackle him. I would love for the coaching staff to give him a look at TE.

Same situation as Jennings. He wants to play TE and has potential at TE. So he competes at that position and shoes that is where he belongs or moved to DE. Doubtful he would be an instant impact DE so it is all good.
