I think we need as more help at TE.
after not taking any high school DEs last year, and Kongbo maybe out growing the position I would say the need is at DE.
It will be interesting to watch. We did take two TEs last year but one was injured and the other was a lower rated guy. After Wolf we have Little Wolf and Jakob Johnson. Two very unproven assets. They may kill it but that remains to be seen. Then we have the two freshmen mentioned previously. Four unproven players behind Wolf. I think this pick was especially nice because by the time he gets on campus we will have a better idea of our TE situation. If we are hurting Bumphus starts out at TE. If the TE position looks solid he can start out at DE. His versatility to place both positions well makes him a great pickup.
I don't think we keep Rogers. This is mostly because I see Bumphus as a TE. Only see the need for 1 TE this year.
P Fort stated he was being recruited for the D-line.
Just saw where he was named Scout Number 1 rated DE in TN.
Three-star defensive end LaTrell Bumphus of Hardin County High School in Savannah, Tenn., attended the camp and worked out as a tight end. The 6-foot-3.5, 230-pound Bumphus put together a solid showing at tight end, and while Bumphus remains interested in playing tight end, sources have indicated that Tennessee still views him as a likely defensive end. Regardless, hes still high on the Vols, and he remains one of their top in-state targets after Sundays camp. Theres still at least a chance he could show up at Tennessees camp Wednesday at University School of Jackson, too.

Sorry, but I disagree completely. Not sure why you see Bumphus at TE, considering most all signs from UT have been we're recruiting him at DE. And Rogers is extremely underrated, all-Vol according to Twitter, and his film is very impressive.
I have him there based on his film and his better potential at TE IMO. I didn't see enough in the hudl I watched of him to tell me that he would be a good DE. Yes he is athletic but at DE he is a huge work in progress prospect IMO. 2 years of work to get there.
Also I'm not very impressed by Rogers. He seems like a very large reach to me.
I do like his ability to have a solid impact on both sides of the ball. Remember everyone thought Tyler Byrd was gonna be a DB and he still might be. Same with Jauan Jennings.
I appreciate your opinion. And I agree bob Welton is the one of the best in the business when it comes to talent evaluations but I feel Bumphus will be a great fit at either TE or DE.Not sure why we feel the need to napalm differing opinions with such ridicule when they are presented with zero aggression and backed up with sound reasoning and conviction.
That being said, I think Bumphus is a DE because that is what VQ claims he was recruited as by Tennessee. I think Tennessee has an elite group of talent evaluators (Coach Jones, Bob Welton), and I trust them implicitly until they give me reason not to.
