From Rivals:
Crosby took in games at Tennessee, FSU, N.C. State, UNC, Ohio State and Virginia Tech during the season.

He intends to release a top-five this spring and announce his decision April 22, one day before his birthday.

Crosby said his lead group would be comprised of Clemson, UNC, N.C. State, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Tennessee, Florida, FSU, Ohio State and Miami.

Clemson, Tennessee and Virginia Tech stood out as far as the game environments he witnessed.

"With the college I'm looking for, I like that big game-day atmosphere," he said. "The game of football has always been a big part of my life, so I like that big stage playing the best teams with the best fans."

Somebody get this man a front-row seat for the "Beatdown in Bristol".

In his words: “I’m still getting a lot of coaches still reaching out. Alabama, Tennessee, and Clemson are really pursuing me. I’m getting to know how the coaches are with the players during my visits and how they would used me if I went there. I’m going Alabama in April, Tennessee in February and I’ll probably get back to N.C. State some time soon.”

Not that it's really going to impact Crosby or his future, he's already on everybody's radar and highly sought after, but the Oc. La. coach who built them into a powerhouse left at the end of last season to take over at Bishop Sullivan, a private school in the area. Had to serve a 5 game suspension to start last year due to inappropriate recruiting activity so now he doesn't have to worry about that rule any more, and his first targets are from his former team. So far he's already pilfered two OL players, Khalan Laborn (#1 in VA for 17) and Tank Land who is a class of 19 kid that will probably be a well known name in another year or so.

Crosby has already said he's staying but there are other really good players who have more than just one year left that might make the jump too.

Besides Justin Hunter we never had much success at OL but if we could get a foothold in at Bishop Sullivan though it could be huge going forward. Starting this year with Laborn and Breyon Gaddy, although both of those will probably end up at FSU.

Hubbs just posted that the Vols "have positioned themselves nicely" with Crosby, so he's probably our next (now first?) commitment of the 2017 class.

Nice way to immediately fill a huge need in the 2017 class. Top 5 composite DT on 247!

Per Hubbs

Again, on to 2017, and the defensive line and where efforts are quickly being focused to the Tidewater area in Virginia. In about a 20-mile radius on the Virginia coast, Tennessee has offered five defensive linemen and most are very interested in the Vols.

Four-star defensive lineman Eric Crosby has been very high on the Vols for some time and he's expected to be on campus later this month or in early March for a visit. Tennessee has been very high on his list for some time and even though Clemson and Alabama are up there as well, the Vols have positioned themselves nicely at this point.

This is one we need to lock up early especially if he is indeed committing in April.

Violent and explosive. Reminds me a lot of Tuttle - not too many men that size with that kind of agility.

"We noted Eric Crosby will be in town soon. He confirmed with me this morning he will be here on Friday Feb. 19 for a visit."
