'17 WV OT Riley Locklear (UT signee)

Things going to get interesting soon. We are recruiting Ross, Eze, Smith, Foster, the Gaddy bros, Gibbs, Holloman, Chandler, Akers, etc, and they are all still in the works. Butch is going to get creative.

I wonder what Chandler and Akers are thinking right now. It seems to me they would prefer to run behind the more higher rated OL than what we are picking up right now. Hope that is not the case but it does seem logical.

Every olineman we sign can play them all. You can take a tackle to guard but it's harder to rake a guard to tackle.

Very possible they talk. I think FSU is in the drivers seat with Locklear. I wouldn't mind it a bit if we got him. I'm holding to my thinking if it's Locklear or McKenzie and Jalen is healthy, I'm taking him. I can't see taking more than 3 on the OL this year.

Bump

How can anyone possibly come to that conclusion?

You are a magnificent piece of work. You're up there with Nationdon and TerryP in my book. You keep on doin you, good sir.

I'm always happy when we sign an o-line prospect it's because of the Dooley effect lol. Does anyone else feel we are overloading on Tackles and ignoring the interior line positions?

We signed 3 tackles last class and have 2 for next year.

Locklear can play G, T, or C.

Ross who we get at the end of July is a G IMO.

I'm okay with this because I'd rather the staff sign tackles and move them inside than be forced into moving a guard to tackle. One transition is easier than the other. I'm sure the staff have a few prospects pegged as interior linemen, but this staff seems to value versatility.

I feel the same way about signing offensive linemen. Dooley still hurts and Jelks would have looked good in orange.

Ryan Johnson is being touted by Coach Matthews as a guard. Locklear and Ross can play both.
