"LSU, Tennessee and Mississippi State are recruiting me the hardest right now," said Jones. "I have visited Tennessee a couple of times this year and I have visited LSU and Mississippi State once. I am done with visits right now. I have spring practice, so I will be busy, but I plan to hit the road again this summer."
LSU: "The coaches are the main reason I really like LSU right now. They let me sit in on the meetings to see how they break everything down, they treated me like I was a player on the team already and it was great. Coach [Dave] Aranda (defensive coordinator) and I text each other every day, so we stay in contact and that is cool. He switches thing up from casual talk to recruiting talk, so we are getting to know each other. My favorite part is their defense. I love how they play fast and they fly to the ball."
MISSISSIPPI STATE: "They are coming after me hard and they like my work ethic and my style of play. Coach [Dan] Mullen is really a family guy and he was easy to talk to when I was there. He took me into his office and we had a great talk. I like the atmosphere and just how quiet it is around there."
TENNESSEE: "Me and coach [Tommy] Thigpen (linebackers) are always in contact with each other. We text every day, we communicate a lot and we have a great relationship. He is like a father figure to me. He wants me to be a part of their defense and he talks to me like I am one of his own already. When I am up there visiting, it is that home feel for me. I like the campus and the facilities are great too."
RIVALS REACTION...
The one school that has had Jones on campus twice this year is Tennessee and he even talks about his relationship with coach Thigpen as one like he would have with his father. The Vols are viewed as the frontrunner as we get ready to head into the summer. A decision is still a few months away and Jones will likely add offers and take more visits, but all appear to be chasing Tennessee. Jones has not named a leader publicly, he says he is keeping his options open, so you cannot rule anyone out yet.
