'18 CA CB Olaijah Griffin (USC signee)

I have seen some film on him. I know he has good hips, quick feet, and nice recovery speed but I haven't seen anything on his physicality. Does he take pride in hitting?

Physicality is good. Sets the edge very well.

Wide shoulder CB that is a very polished already.

I honestly feel more confident in the Taylor boy than Griffin, just because last visits make a huge difference.

I can't pm you, no option to do so...wish to ask if you've heard about an obstacle in OG's recruitment, that I won't ask publicly.

You could have just told him you had something you needed to ask him privately without throwing that obvious teaser out there.

On TV.

Not in person.

If you can remember a guy Altoona Pennsylvania by the name of Justin King.
That's who this kid is like.

Was a star at Penn State

King shut down Ted Ginn all game in an upset. He and Derrick Williams were studs coming out when they went to Penn State.

Goodness gracious time flies!

I remember that game like it was yesterday. That was 2006 !

Yeah Joe Pa used both of them on offense and special teams. King started on defense too.

Very good Penn State team powered by a couple of freshman 5 stars and a good defense.

That was Friday. He'll be at the 2018 Polynesian Bowl, check in is tomorrow.

Players | Polynesian Bowl

He backed out of the game to stay on SC campus until Monday, ugh...

Talked briefly with his pops, who's on campus today. Said OG is having a great time, feels very comfortable on campus, likes the coaches and is clicking well with the players. He was scheduled to play in the Polynesian Bowl this weekend but backed out of the game so he'll be able to stay at SC until Monday. Family definitely wants him to stay close to home and has made that very clear to Olaijah during the process. He'll likely visit Florida, Oregon or Auburn over the next couple of weekends and then make a Signing Day decision

Is SC 'strongly leading?'....

I'm not sure if I would say 'strongly' but I think they're in a good spot. A lot of people around him want him close to home. I asked Warren if Olaijah prefers to stay home or get away a couple of weeks ago and he said he thinks OG wants to get away from home but thought that would change the closer to Signing Day it got.

I’d say this news doesn’t sound promising, but with the staff that’s been put together, I’m not going to worry until he’s signed with another program.

Has CJP done an in home with OG?

If my immediately family wanted me close to home instead of going across the country for college, I would have caved and stayed at home, especially at his age.

Don't be knowing if reposts are copasetic, but Ima jump right in with this one.

Quote:

“the whole trip is something that i would love to do again,” griffin said, laughing. Griffin decommitted from the bruins on saturday, telling volquest.com, “after just talking with my parents, i didn’t really feel the same way about ucla.” what changed his mind? “tennessee,” he said, smiling. “go vols!”

in less than three weeks, the vols have shot up griffin’s leaderboard, as a knockout official visit has positioned tennessee on top for the blue-chip defensive back. “tennessee is probably the best thing i’ve ever visited,” he said, noting that he still feels that way three weeks later after letting the visit marinate a bit. “the first time i got off the plane, i was like, ‘wow. This is tennessee.’”

“i’ve always been a california (guy), but now that i’m starting to look into the sec it’s kind of crazy,” griffin said. “i had never been to another campus outside california. So when i got to tennessee, i was like, ‘this is amazing.’ this is where my family started from, so i can probably feel like home.”

“(pruitt) thinks i’m a great player, and i think he’s a great coach,” griffin said. “(early playing time) plays a big role, especially in the sec.” tennessee will be in a fight to hold its current momentum for griffin, who said his only goal down in orlando was to earn his 5th star.

With january visits upcoming to usc, michigan and auburn, the vols have to hope another school, staff and campus won’t catch his eye before a final decision on national signing day. Still, sitting in the catbird seat beats trailing for the 4-star corner, who even contemplated signing early with tennessee in december. “(the vols) got a pretty big lead right now.”
