'18 CA CB Olaijah Griffin (USC signee)

Begs the question of who one would have a connection with that can KNOW where a recruit ends up. If the connection is with Tennessee, how would that person know if the kid picked another school? If it’s with USC, how the hell do they know about the Tennessee recruiting tidbits that fall out of your butt like rabbit pellets on this board?

The playoff has done what it's supposed to, IMO, it's made sure that the 2 best teams get to compete for #1. The poll system and the BCS didn't always make that happen.

But UCF wasn’t even in the playoff......

I hope the kid comes to UT, but in all honestly.. This feels like Adoree Jackson all over again.

I wish everybody would quit making these comparisons. They are two different situations with different families and different other extraneous factors. It does not matter how much one feels like the other. There is no correlation. You may end up being correct as it does appear to me that he is most likely to choose USC, but that has nothing to do with what Adoree Jackson decided.

Hard to pull Cali kids with legit USC offers

I agree with this and combined with the information that his family really wants him to stay closer to home leads me to believe that we finish second. I do hope that I am wrong as it would not be the first, nor will it be the last time that is true.

Because they weren’t one of the best four teams.

I would probably agree but technically we will never know that. Just saying. To play devils advocate, how is the nations best team not even the best team in a 7 team division? There will always be flaws with these things. But man if a 8 team play off with 5 conference champs, 2 at larges, and best group of 5 doesn’t make sense...I don’t know what does.

Gotta play somebody. When your best win is putting a FOURTH loss on a team that put the ONLY loss on two teams in its own conference? That ain’t good enough. When EVERYBODY from the media to the guys down at the sports bar “prayed for chaos” in the BCS Championship every season to get a playoff, the powers that be almost always picked the hands down two best teams imo. When they skipped a simple playoff and went to four teams, I knew it wouldn’t last long before we’d want more. It makes too much sense for it to end up a 16 team playoff (money’s too great!), but in the meantime they chaffe the bad wheat out pretty effectively. To place UCF in the playoff without playing a grueling conference schedule would have been criminal to the teams that do.

I’ve been pretty transparent about who I am and my connection to UT. Additionally, it’s idiotic to pretend to be “something more” on a message board, as you so eloquent stated. What would I have to gain from that. Would also be a pretty pathetic representation of my life, if that was the case. In fact I’ve commented on ~6 recruits (not the every player you so ignorantly want to claim), with pretty reliable information. Also commented on the QB situation because of what was told to me about transfers during a conversation about JT. You want to highlight Copelan (and I’m not really sure what you are referring to) but ignore my comments about Caleb or the transfers or whatever else. Sounds fair.

Like I’ve said over and over, my family is connected directly to Tennessee since most graduated from UT, but I am not and I did not attend UT. I happen to be connected to people in recruiting through my career and my college experience that share information with me.

Lots of people graduated from and have relatives who graduated from UT. Doesn’t mean they are connected to people that actually know what’s going on in recruiting.

Eight teams, no bye weeks. Allows a slightly bigger field. Eight to four to two to one. But I like the idea of using the old BCS ranking system to seed teams. Takes out the human factor to a degree.

thanks.

Not what I wanted to hear tonight, but hearing he’s going to be at USC. Pretty much what I stated previously about family and friend pressure and being close to home.

Lol uh oh look everyone another message board insider!!! I’ve been on VN for 8 years (different username) and I’ve seen many of these jokers come and go. Basically taking a stab at it based on reading tea leaves, if Griffin goes to USC it’ll be “told ya!!” And if he doesn’t “Weeeell things changed last minute...”

Yeah. Seen it before bro. Go on somewhere with that garbage.

I know everyone including myself wants this kid, but why aren't more folks talking about Taylor-Stuart? We could pull this kid too...

So you take CB's and info from Simonton, Hubbs, and every other writer that drops tidbits even though they are guessing but no one else is allowed?

Dude may be connected, maybe not.

I know one thing. If I was connected somehow and had info I sure as hell wouldn't share it because of posters like you.

I enjoy the information, it breaks up the monotony of the same folks on here just sharing opinions and gut feelings.

NSD will weed out the ones with real info and those who don't.

So you know people that work for recruiting sites like Rivals and 247? I'm not hating or anything. Just trying to understand your statement. It would make sense if so as most of your info sounds like that sort of info. It's not like you've said a lot of earth shattering stuff which is why it sounds like a lot of what is already said on here. If that's the case the info would still be useful and appreciated by most as it may provide some insight into what the recruiting services are hearing. If my assumption is wrong then everything I just said was a complete waste of time for anyone who reads it. hahaha. :)
