'18 CA CB Olaijah Griffin (USC signee)

Reading the part about he wants to live in southern cal after football about seals the deal for USC imo. Not going to get over that piece using the USC network.

Just to sum up this recruitment from the view of the Crystal Ballers.

1) he grew up a USC fan his whole life - CB to usc
2) then committed to UCLA - CB to UCLA
3) Decommitted from UCLA because of coaching change - CB to uSC
4) UT "found" him after a new coaching search and got hit to OV in December. CB to Tennessee.
5) Decided not to sign with UT in the early period - CB to USC and UT
6) OV to Oregon - CB to Oregon
7) Got a text message from Helton - CB to USC
8) Text message from other Helton - CB to UT
9) OV to USC - CB to USC
10) in home visit by Pruitt - CB to UT
11) OV to Bama - CB to Bama
12) The wind blew from the south - CB to Tennessee
13) Mickey Mouse farted - CB to USC

.....

I never liked that damn mouse.

I think it's foolish to judge Pruitt and staff on this class. While recruiting is the life blood of a program, coaching and player development are much more important. It takes longer to build a program the right way and we as fans typically don't have patience to see it through. Not saying Tennessee fans don't have patience because that would be false evidenced by the last 10 years. All you have to do is look at the basketball team and see the proper way to build a program.

I think kids from around the country have grown skeptical of UT football. I think fans are reaching that point too. That's why I've maintained that this hire was crucial to the future of Tennessee football. Fans are becoming weary of all the gambles that we've witnessed the AD make in regards to coaches. I've maintained here that I felt like the UTAD took advantage of the supreme fan loyalty that many of us have in our DNA. It was alway a simple dollars and cents calculation on a spreadsheet. Revenue was pretty much maxed out so why go spend the money it takes to hire a well established coach?

Jeremy Pruitt may turn out to be the next great coach in this league but he could also be the next failure. There is not enough data out there to really make an educated prediction. I sure as hell won't decide based on this signing class. I'll be more interested in what happens this fall on the gridiron.

I 100 percent fall into this way of thinking and fully support this message. May mean you are either  or a moran.

Tuesday thoughts – At one point back in December, Griffin had the Vols out front. But things have not been trending Tennessee's way for the last couple of weeks. Griffin's dialogue with Tennessee has been said to be limited at best the last week or so, although it's unclear how much he's spoken with any school. Griffin is a huge priority for Southern Cal and he has deep roots in Los Angeles. His hometown just seems to be too much to overcome.

Hubbs also said it's unclear how much he's been talking to any schools.

Who knows. I'll mourn the loss if he chooses someone else. Until then I'll just hope for the best.

Weird recruitment. How the hell was he committed to UCLA when USC was his childhood favorite? Then favors going outside the state then finally decides on USC? Lol these kids change their minds every three seconds.

A lot of these kids love the attention from these schools and really enjoy their visit. They are high off their last trip they made. I know I would've if I was talented enough to be recruited by all the top schools in the country. As a fan I used to get mad about these kids not choosing UT but I always tell my son he has to do what is best for him and I can't blame these young men for doing the same.

he really liked one of their coaches under the last regime.

No idea but we didn't make his top 4. I have no idea why people still thought he was going to pick us even on signing day.

He was very interested in us but dropped us right before signing day. We didn’t even get a hat
