'18 CA QB Adrian Martinez

I am going to let him play the season first before I declare him great at Auburn. Remember Jeremy Johnson or whoever was the back up under Marshall. People had him as Heisman favorite and he was terrible. Auburn hasn't developed a QB yet. stidham hopefully got all the development he needed elsewhere.

Stidham proved he was a baller his freshman season when he took over for their really good QB . The kid has the " it " factor .

Auburn's success has come on the free market, JUCO or transfer so I am not saying its impossible or unlikely.

"ESPN's Billy Tucker compared Tennessee four-star 2018 verbal QB commit Adrian Martinez to Auburn junior QB Jarrett Stidham.
"Both QBs are passers first but athletic enough to make plays outside of the pocket and hurt you with their legs or ability to throw accurately on the run," Tucker wrote. "Like Stidham, Martinez is a cool customer who drives the ball into tight windows when needed or can throw with touch and timing." The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder is listed as ESPN's No. 32 overall prospect for the 2018 cycle. In ESPN's scouting report, they note that Martinez "can drive the ball" ... "make all the throws" and possesses "a high ceiling."

I like the addition of Martinez. He can develop into a better QB than Justin Fields.

Agreed. It would be of no surprise if Martinez ends up being one of the best 2 QBs in this class - a statement that seemed a bit more bold prior to espns rankings. He should finish in the top 100 across the board. Butch finds QB talent.

Not everyone knows who he is, I merely provided some context. I too will let him play.

still feeling good about this commit.

I have zero doubt that this young man is both a special person & special player:

“Adrian is a rare combination of brains, elite athleticism, leadership and competitiveness,” Clovis coach Rich Hammond says. “Playing the most visible and difficult position in sports, he has the innate ability to take over a game with his combination of intangibles. More than anything, it’s his grace and smoothness playing the game and off the field that makes him a once-in-a-generation type of talent.”

His own coach, Clovis West’s George Petrissans, says: “As a coach, your job is to put the ball in the key athlete’s hands, the one who makes the good decisions, right? Adrian is such a dual athlete, he’s like having another running back on the field. He’s always had great quarterback skills, but now he’s on the same page with his coaches; he knows exactly where the ball needs to go. He’s progressed from mentally taking over and having total command of the offense. We’re fortunate to have him for another year.”

Cardinals: Jarrett Stidham, QB, Auburn

10 Cardinals: Jarrett Stidham, QB, Auburn
One year at Auburn after the transfer from Baylor pushes one of the best arm talents in the nation into the first round. The dual-threat has a tremendous year on The Plains and Arizona finds Carson Palmer’s replacement.

So Foxsports had Stidham 10th in next years draft, to put the comparison in perspective as far as upside and booms.

Hasn't he only thrown like 100 passes ever? Against B12 defenses? The hype on stidham is out of control imo

Small sample size to be sure but I've seen him play several times and he seems to be totally legit. We'll see soon enough but I'd be more surprised if he didn't match the hype than if he does.

Maybe so. I think SEC defenses are going to be a shock to him and I bet he doesn't have as good a season as people seem to think, especially the first half of the season.

That week should be a nice one for Tennessee, always nice to have a QB in one of the big games. He should leave there with a bump he can't get this summer. Nice to have him there with a WR of ours.
