'18 DT TN D'Andre Litaker

Your attitude strikes me as someone who basks in mediocrity in all aspects of life.

Gucci, this is a dumb argument. First off, it's a 4* DT. ACL or not, these don't grow on trees. Second, it's an instate kid. Third, your argument is futile. The kid just got hurt and you're on here hoping we cut him.

Not sure if you're just trolling.

I'd prefer lineman not play as a freshman anyways (save Trey Smith). Let him redshirt, get fully healthy, and be ready to roll spring 2019 as a redshirt freshman.

Solid retort based on absolute fantasy and delusion.

You'd have a point if I were suggesting that we offer this kid a scholarship now because he is hurt and suffered a great deal at his age as some sort of human interest story. But that, of course, isn't the case.

The irony of your stance is that in an effort to win more, pulling this kid's offer most likely hurts our future chances at winning instate recruiting battles for kids in the Rutherford County area, thus hurting our chances of being a winning program. So, I'd argue you can't see the forest for the trees in this instance because of your reactionary, emotional response.

NCAA should have a waiver in place for a guy like this not counting toward the 25 if he never becomes able to play. Then it would be easier to take him.

Silver-lining is that it is the other knee. This should help with his recovery because he'll know and expect what to do. Also, he'll have the UT people helping him. Is he an EE?

this is a really interesting solution. Would be interested to see what the criteria would be? Repeat major injuries to body pre signing day?

sounds like a great place to start. Not an easy question to answer but a real need in a case like this. The human side says to take this kid but the bissiness side is very different.

Is it just me or does it seem like there are a ton more injuries than there used to be? I wonder if the injury rate has increased dramatically, because these kids are playing from a very young age, and play pretty much year round. Basketball is almost a year round sport now, as is baseball and softball, with AAU, travel squads, etc etc. The football camps have even made that sport more of a year round thing. I don't think it's good for the kids. I think their ligaments, tendons, and muscles are getting fatigued due to excessive wear without a long enough time to heal and gain full strength, thus causing more injuries. Just some thoughts. Anyone else see the same increase in injuries?
Same sport year around using and doing the same thing repetitively is definitely an issue. That and crazy parents. Playing year round is fine as long as playing different sports. Being too specialized at too early an age.
