'18 DT TN D'Andre Litaker

Wait, this kid was testing the waters, setting up visits, and feared to flip, and suddenly UT has to honor his scholly.

Nothing you said in that post is anywhere near a verified fact. All we know is his best friend is going to UL and Lit was going to go visit campus with him. From there, titty-baby vol fans ran and turned that into Lit was def flipping and our recruiting class was falling apart. Lol.

You all realize what this kid has been through already at his age? He lost his mom not long ago. He's living with the family of a friend. It would be absolutely disgusting to drop this kid.

The fact that he scheduled a visit to UL before the injury and then had such a bad injury in most cases would be grounds for dropping a guy, but in this case, him being a mid-stater, an NPA guy, you just cannot risk it. It would kill them PR wise as others have pointed out and hurt them going forward with any of those kids. Also, I think he's a big-time prospect on top of that. He's MUCH better than his 3* rating on 247 and I think proved that early in the season.

de1conley - Maybe you've already addressed it earlier in the thread but was Litaker seriously considering a flip to Louisville before the injury?

when did we become Clemson?

The only reason it was serious is because Jarek Campbell is going there and they're like brothers. I honestly feel really bad for the kid and I'm really not going to speak much on it as this is a very trying time for him. IMO he will be at UT barring a major melt down in his recruitment.

Oakland player who has been thru a lot losing family. Better think this one over real hard before you process him.

I agree with this. This might hurt future mid state recruiting. I understand he wants his own guys in. I have no problem with that but sometimes you have to take the hit for the future

No kidding. You don't cut an instate kid with his history this late.

Plus he is really close with Lawless and Emerson.

The realist in me totally understands why they wouldn’t wanna give a scholarship to a guy like Litaker who may never be healthy enough to develop and contribute.

But yeah, they should just him and let it be. Kid has been through too much and is in an area that is vital to our recruiting.

Would be completely classless to turn this kid away after all he’s been through. I understand it football wise, but I just wouldn’t agree with turning this one player loose. He has good potential too IMO.

And I promise you our coaches know some facts that typical fans do not know. It's not a decision based on surface facts.

JP could just be straight up with him.

"D'Andre, we are absolutely going to honor your scholarship, but with us being a 3-4 defense now you won't necessarily fit best in our system. To have your best chance to succeed and prepare you for the NFL you may want to look into a few schools that fit your skillset best."

Boom. Both parties happy.

Imo, if UT processes Litaker out, the chances of losing Emerson and Lawless increase, greatly. This would be bad business. I want Fulmer to stay out of Pruitt's way and let him run his program, but this one time, Fulmer needs to tell Pruitt, dropping Litaker this late in this recruiting cycle would be very unwise. Pruitt could not only lose Litaker, but Oakland and Murfreesboro, too. Litaker has had a tough life and the fallout of dropping him would be catastrophic, imo.
