Have confirmed that CB Al Blades Jr. will be in town for 'Orange Carpet Day' this Saturday. There's no doubt that Tennessee trails Miami for the nation's No. 35 overall prospect, but Kevin Beard has juice here and the Vols are at least giving Blades Jr. a second option/something to think about.

The standout corner remains a longshot, but at least getting him on campus puts Tennessee in the conversation.

Especially with Miami's class and his connections to that program, I don't see this going out way.

FL connections with Beard and Scott coming in clutch here. It's highly unlikely that we get him but just getting him on campus and interested is still huge.

Scott and Beard(not to forget Warren and Hoke) are the reasons I think Butch has finally stepped up his game and I've become optimistic of his future success here. We traded Scott for Debord and Beard for Azzanni. Both look to be good moves. We're getting looks from players like Blades that have ties to these guys. If we can lock them up the future looks bright for Butch and company.

Our new staff's ability to recruit is better than the previous regime. Wells,Hoke,Scott,Beard all seem to be improvements on the recruiting front of those they replaced. Plus having a designated QB coach can only help that aspect.

It would be nice, if Scott and Beard could create a Miami and/ or south Florida to Knoxville pipeline.

Mr. Swanson, have u heard anything about Kevin Austin? I heard Blades and Austin were good friends. I'm hoping Austin accompanies Blades to OCD.

I haven't seen anything saying he'll be here. But it sure would be nice if he showed up.

Thanks, RS. Yes, it would. Austin's highlight video is amazing. As much as I like Tommy Bush, I still would take Austin in a NY minute. Plus, if we got Austin, it would give us a better chance of getting Blades

Btw, did I read somewhere that JaMar Chase was coming to OCD ? I know he wasn't on the list u put out earlier
