'18 FL CB Jordan Miner

If we get Miner I really expect our DB's to be a strength next year wheather he can play as a freshman or not. Surely at least a couple of guys could play out of the group Miner, Labruzza, Bailey, Shamburger. Those guys had several other good offers. Am really expecting guys like Osborne, Buchanan to take the next step and be leaders now, with better coaching. Especially Osborne, he was a top recruit for a reason. Warrrior at safety also, should help our athleticism immensely. Already expect big things from Gaulden...this year

Couple the FL Trio with last years class gives Coach Warren some good talent to develop. I think the Boot Boys (Bailey and LaBruzza), Jackson, and Sham are a talented core to go with Osborne and Buchanan, who should be improved with a year under their belts and coaching from Warren. I feel pretty good about the CB position if we can get Miner here. I think distance to PSU and the cold of College Station will help him choose us.

Not being a stargazer, but DB is still an area where we aren't recruiting as well as we need to, at least in the '17 and '18 classes. Harris is an awesome pick up, and I'm not even going to pretend to know enough about Cross and Ingle to pass any kind of judgement, but we really need Miner and at least one more elite corner that everyone else seems to want. Whether it be corner or safety, we need to sign at least 3 top 250 talent level DB's every year in order to compete with the SEC elite. If Warren can get the most out of Martin and Wiggins, I think DB recruiting/play could really take off.

Not necessarily. I'm also talking about guys that seem to be at or near the top of the coach's board or guys that everyone seems to want. Buccanon was a 3*, as was Sutton, and he looks to me like he could have Sutton-like potential as well. From last year's class, Gray always looked to me like he could grow into an LB hybrid/STAR position so I'm not sure he ends up at DB, but I think Labruzza might be pretty good. Seems like LSU came after him pretty hard later in the cycle and we weathered the storm. Horn has been underrated for a while, but if Muschamp and Bama want a DB, then you know you are onto something. Whether or not we are talking about actual stars, the '17 and '18 classes are still lacking star power at DB.

Oregon, Penn St., Florida and Tennessee are 4 of Miner's offers. I haven't checked his other offers, but those 4 are pretty damn good

Definitely a lot of talk on 247 from the FL area guys that Miner is about to commit to PSU. Would be a tough loss with how bare our DB board looks. Not in on many big-time guys.

Yep. Outside of Harris and a couple others, DB recruiting in both '17 and '18 classes has been disappointing.

No doubt. Our cornerback recruiting has been downright horrible the last 3 classes. Most of the Corners we've taken are more suited for nickel/safety roles. Just a really bad job with getting true outside guys.

I was hoping Warren would have a little more of an instant impact in recruiting. Like I said, if he can get the most out of Martin and Wiggins, I think it bodes well for the future, but we need some elite corners on board right now.

don't know how you feel about Martinez as the DB coach, but i'm fairly optimistic with Warren now....i think we have some pretty good talent at CB....but very inconsistent, and basically, underdeveloped.

i thought both Foreman and Mosely both got better as 2015 wore on, especially Foreman and was expecting them both to pick up where they left off in 16...neither really did, though Foreman probably wound up being the better of two last season.

rooting hard for Mosely and Martin to "get it" and become more consistent.

as for the future...i think we've done pretty good at Safety. CB, i agree, we haven't really pushed for more sure bets at the position...hoping to see that change with Warren.

still think LB is a bigger concern, and i think you do too...
