For your information, I wasn't just referencing all 5* recruits. I was talking about 4* recruits too. I'll leave it at that & not get smart or have a smart comment back towards you because I don't work that way. Thanks.

I know perfectly well how recruits change their minds & are unpredictable at their ages. I get all of that. I really really do. It's just shocking to me to have so many recruits talking so great about us & their visits but not a single one of them has said I want to commit to UT now.

Some have even made 3-4 visits already. It's most certainly not like 2017 recruiting went for sure. Not even close. Let's just hope what we do end up getting isn't leftovers & a bunch of 3* recruits again.

I'm telling you guys. I'm no expert like the guys that work for the recruiting services & never have claimed to be either but I know more than you all think & act like I do.

There's already been quite a few 5* recruits committed to other schools that we had also offered so for members/people to act like this is some walk in the park at this point is fooling themselves. We have an awful lot of work to do from here until NSD 2018.

I hope the ones of you saying wait until the O&W game to see the commitments start coming in is true but why wait until then? Hopefully we can get at least a couple of 4*-5* recruits even before the O&W game. Thanks.

there is your whole quote, with the bolded being what I quoted. nothing in that part about 4*.

fwiw I also went on about the 4*. there are TOO many 4*s for us to get all that we offered. "losing" some is not a reason to freak out.

Its one thing to express concern or disappointment in a reasonable manner. You have been coming across like it is certain doom if we don't bring in more 4*s immediately (before O&W). really the only thing it would serve is to make you, and really all of us, feel better.

Seriously? With all the coaching changes this is not surprising whatsoever. Give our new coaches time to build their relationships. Look at the fact that one of our two commits is wavering due to his position coach having left. That relationship changed. Relax, Things will work themselves out.

All joking aside, I would be happy with Penix being a part of this class. He's a good fit for our offense, and it sounds like he's been showing out at camps.

It was hard to see his arm, but I certainly was not impressed in the limited plays they showed (first page link). He did not seem to have much velocity and was almost a "duck" on most throws. Seems like an athlete playing QB to me, but again, I saw very limited highlight and I am not a scout.

He does have an odd throwing motion. It's sort of coming from the hips like looking at his film. When he finishes his throw it looks almost 3/4 like as well like a pitcher in baseball. I still think he's decent though. Not nearly as good as Rogers or Mayden though to me.

Hope Martinez commits first. Don't mind Penix being the 2nd QB taken, but we need Martinez imo
