-HubbsJashaun Corbin The former Vol commitment turned FSU commitment turned Seminole decommitment is scheduled to see the Vols this weekend. Robert Gillespie made a bit of a surprise visit to see the Florida all-purpose back last week and the 6-1, 185-pound will see the Vols officially this weekend after hosting Jeremy Pruitt in-home on Monday. Corbin is down to Texas A&M, where he visited last week, TCU and Tennessee. With Anthony Grant still a possibility to flip to UNC or Virginia Tech, a second back for Jeremy Pruitt in his first class remains a direction the Vols could go depending on numbers and best available prospects on their board
These guys are killing me. One day Corbin is a back up plan the next we are trending. Lol
Vols have certainly re-entered the mix. I've consistently maintained I don't see Grant ending up at UT, and in the last 10+ days, the Vols have made Corbin a big priority. Getting the final visit won't hurt, either. Can't discount A&M though. He has a good relationship with Fisher and Graham.
A former commitment to both Tennessee and then FSU Corbin is now down to Tennessee, and Texas A&M, with TCU likely only an option if neither the Vols nor the Aggies have room. Pruitt and staff were inhome with Corbin on Monday laying the groundwork for the official visit, and this one looks like its trending the Vols way. The question right now from a Tennessee fans perspective is whether or not Corbin ends up being a take for the Vols. Whats interesting is that its unclear if that is contingent upon a final decision from current Vol commit Anthony Grant. Grant, whose commitment is obviously still shaky (and its notable that the very well-informed Jesse Simonton from Volquest.com continues to maintain that he doesnt see Grant signing with the Vols) is visiting FSU this weekend and has both UNC and Virginia Tech firmly in play. Is that one spot either his or Corbins? Or would Tennessee take both, with Grant projecting at a few other positions besides RB? Or might it not matter if there ends up being room and Pruitt just wants the best available players and Corbin is a helluva playmaker? The goal for Tennessee this weekend is to make Corbin absolutely want that spot if its there, which makes this visit a big capper to a big week between the two parties
The VQ mods have really been struggling. Austin is the only one who seems to have a decent grasp on things. It's pretty obvious they don't know what is going on and are just speculating and guessing with most of these kids. They were way off on Wood Anderson even an hour before he signed with UT and if you listened to Brent and Jesse you would have thought our chances of signing Peterson were slim even after he committed.
As for Corbin and Flowers, both prospects have become major factors recently. Tennessee has tried to get Flowers on campus for three weeks, with his SEC waiver finally cleared for a trip this weekend. In the time between, Flowers has heard from a number of other schools, getting an offer from Clemson on Monday. He visited the Tigers the last two days. Corbin has reemerged as a Tennessee target, too, as Robert Gillespie visited the tailback three times in the last three weeks including an in-home with Jeremy Pruitt to secure Corbins final OV this weekend. This one is shaping up to be a Tennessee-Texas A&M battle at the end.
