'18 FL RB Jashaun Corbin (Texas A&M signee)

I just watched this kid's hudl highlights and came away really impressed.

At first I wasn't impressed by his speed because he kind of glides on a lot of his longer runs. But towards the end of his video he had two defensive highlights where you could see him really huffing it and his top end speed flashing. One on a pick six (really great play) and one on a play where he a RB made him miss initially before breaking into open field. Looked like the kid should have been gone but Corbin ran him down no problem.

I'm no scout but its hard for me to get a read on his highlights. First off, his running style - he doesn't look especially fast. But I think that's more because he's a long strider. Also has an upright running style like Erik Dickerson.

Lastly, the OP says he's 6' but I swear to god he looks like a high schooler playing against a pee-wee team. Some of those kids on that defense he's against look tiny.

On defense, you can tell he's used to being the biggest kid on the field because he doesn't wrap up at all. He just runs up and pushes offensive players down.

Film looks good to me, and I think he is a good fit for our offense, but the main thing I look at is the offer list. I trust actual coaches more than men sitting behind a desk who may or may not have even played. This kid has a really good offer list. Florida, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, USC, Notre Dame, and several other pretty good teams have been after him.

He's good, SEC Level athletes should look and be bigger than average HS guys. Don't know what these other posters want. He's supposed to standout that's why he's got a Tennessee offer. 😎😎😎😎

A lot of times when a player plays both ways you never get to really see his true burst. Most of their highlights they aren't fresh at all.

Looks like he plays Special Teams too. Will be interesting to see what he can do once he gets to focus on just being a RB.

Agree, but again.... he's listed at only 6' 190lbs. I was 6' as at that age, and most of my friends were around that height. So it isn't as though he's this oversized beast. Most of the defenders in the highlights look like they're about 5'7-5'9"

Not knocking the kid. I'm excited about the commitment and I certainly concede his offer list is impressive. Wasn't saying he wasn't deserving of the offer or anything.

Tennessee’s staff, including Gillespie, has told Corbin that the Vols plan to use him as “basically an Alvin Kamara 2.0 — exact same way,” he said, referring to Tennessee’s NFL-bound running back.

“But I feel I’ll be better,” Corbin added.

Love his confidence.

So I get that his competition level may not be great...but looking at his stats he clearly dominates his competition...isn't that what an elite talent does to poor competition?

This kid shows some great speed, by the consistent separation from defenders in his highlights. There were several instances where he ran past safeties that had the angle!

Yes, but this is VN we have to find something to complain about.

It's the fans that should be pissed about how Kamara wasn't used. He fine. He's going to get drafted high and has no wear and tear. But it's us fans stuck a coach that choose to give 80% of the carries to a guy that an average offensive lineman could outrun

If you are suggesting that Hurd was slow footed, you aren't helping your credibility much.

People forget, or have never experienced a football season. 8 games in, I was beat to crap and lost a lot of speed from that grind.

Folks expect highlights to be like lining up for the 40
