True. I'm more concerned they won't blame anyone, and continue to simply claim he's this super-talented player who is just waiting to break out at any point. To me, its just very apparent that he is a good athlete, and an average DB (at best) with a below average football IQ.

I agree generally but I am putting a big asterisk by this game. Everything was different, the coverage, constant run support, no safety help, something like 6 throws on 92 plays.

Martin is awful. The posters touting him as a 1st rd pick and/or having that type talent are crazy. Kid is out of position constantly.

God bless his heart, he tries, but I do believe he's a reincarnation of the "team 121 trash can" lol.

I agree, this game is an aberration, but his play was consistent with his play last year; bad angles, bad tackling, and out of position. He just isn't a good football player. And maybe he hasn't been well-coached, but if he was as talented as we've been led to believe, that talent should have overcome ineffective coaching almost by accident at some point.

Me as well, but with Smith still out and now JJ out, apparently for the season, I don't see anyway for that to happen.

Haha. Come on, CP may not have been a good route runner, but there is no comparison in CPs production compared to Martin's. CP looked like the best athlete on the field almost every game, Martin looks lost.

He's not even half the athlete CP is, nor has he had a fraction of the impact. I literally can't name one specific positive play from Martin.

Your premise is sound though. He just doesn't have the desire, the mental capacity to understand, or both. His football IQ is off the charts bad.
