For one he ran with the CBJ punching Crowder incident that didn't happen.

It wasn't him, it was his producer Seth Stokes who was a member of the media here with Gridironnow. And iirc, Jimmy Hyams was on the story too. Something happened there, there was some smoke, just evidently not nearly the fire that was reported.

Kind of like that faction of the FF that you are a part of blasts Butch every chance they get? 🤔🤔 pot meet kettle

I don't blast him every chance I get. I'm part of the faction that chooses not to stick my head up the head Coach's arse at every turn. I prefer to discuss the good things he's done along the bad and questionable things he's done. It's why I choose to not blast Swain....he's more about reporting fairly on what's going on with the program, both sides, rather than only blow sunshine when there are issues.....and last year there were plenty of issues.

Guys like you look at last year and say "oh, all those injuries....we'd have won everything if all our starters hadn't gone down". I prefer guys like Swain who put those injuries in their proper context and will discuss the other things, the other dysfunctions that led to a disappointing season. The good with the bad my friend, the good AND the bad. It's about the good and the health of the program, not one man who can evidently do no wrong in the eyes of half our fan base.

I find the whole discussion about Swain to be rather amusing and hypocritical. All these people complaining about Swain supposedly reporting rumors, yet many have probably reported a rumor as fact on these boards.

Every single day, in one of these threads is a suggestion that a recruit is being paid or that his parents are getting something from a school we are competing against, yet in this situation Swain is being ridiculed for something that is a daily occurrence here.

Oh, and yes I know that Swain is a media member, which makes him different. Personally, I like to listen to Swain. I don't always agree with his position, but if I listened only to programs that I always agreed with the host, I would never listen to the radio.

This is a message board. If anyone takes the posts on here with more than a grain of salt then they are wrong. No poster on here has credentials and is looked at like a member of the media. It is one thing for everyday folks to run with rumors. I don't like it but at least you can look at the person and realize they don't likely have any hard evidence. Our media members should be held to a higher level of accountability. The media is supposed to bring facts. If you don't have hard evidence then you shouldn't even dignify the rumor by even mentioning it. It does no good and makes you look bad if it turns out to be false. Swain, and other media members, need to be fair and accurate in their reporting. Swain may be mostly fair but when you run with rumors like the HC punching players without hard evidence then you lose your credibility as far as I'm concerned. Then it just looks like you are out to get Butch and not being fair and accurate. JMO though. :hi:

Swain's narrative has changed. I think that he had some backblast from Punchgate and lost some access. I think that ticked him off and now he is grinding his axe a little. I do still like his show, but he has become significantly more negative in last year or more. JMHO, TIFIW, #notaninsider.

This is one thing I don't get from media (all media). You constantly attack someone with something and they keep you out because of it. Yet they don't realize it's the constant attacking that's keeping them out so what do they do? They keep attacking because they are upset they're being left out... from their constant attacks. Will they ever learn?

Hyams never reported that and was adamant that there was no confirmation on the story. Some on here just go with things that are not remotely true. That stuff with Stokes was hack journalism and Swain publicly supported his guy. That's when Swain lost my respect and lost credibility with me.

If it was about the health of the program, then you "fans" wouldn't blast him for what he says to the media. The guy has brought us back to relevance and you "fans" can't accept and appreciate that. Keep being negative and miserable "fans" my friend

Lol. Someone should have slapped the piss out of stokes for that stunt. Swain ran with it on his show. Don't get it twisted. Punk move made by two punks.

He's lucky to have any access at all. If you run with a story that not only slanders the character of the head coach but also slanders the program, you better make damn sure all your facts are straight. I don't care if he's a former player or not he should be barred from any and all access to the program.
