'18 GA DE Jamarcus Chatman (Former UT commit 6/25/17)

Unless Chatman is willing to play small time ball at a mid-major, he had better divorce himself from his friend.

Yeah! They can still write to each other. It would probably be easier to get his gf a non-football scholly and everyone wins, except for griffin.

The last package deal we took (I think), Denarius Moore ended up being the better player.

That was my first thought too. Moore was awesome and he was just kind of a throw in with Creer.

Having watched Griffin play in the state championship last year he was easily the most dominant player on the field. He was better than everyone on the Rome defense and killed Buford.

Since this is the Chatman/Griffin thread I'll chime in on Griffin. I think we're should take him now and if someone else who the coaches think it's better wants in. Then give him the grey shirt/pwo option.

Better than Chatman and Anderson?

Btw, how did Grant look on both, offense and defense ?

He was in that game. I tried to post a link to his hudl film for the state title game, but the link wouldn't work. He was first team all state and destroyed the Buford OL.

Grant had a 95 yard ko return that led to Buford's only td. Other than that Rome held them to like 120 total yards so no one on Buford did much of anything. Rome's defense was in the backfield every play so there was no running room for either of Buford's backs.

That is his film for his JR year. The team in the green and gold is Buford in the title game.

If he was that dominant on the big stage then I don't see how we can complain about this package deal

Griffin's hudl film isn't bad IMO. Thought he looked disruptive and seems like he could be a solid rotational DE

Thanks. Hell, he impressed me. Not the biggest DT, but seems to have a good motor, sheds blocks, well, and nice feet and swim move. I would take a chance on the kid, especially, if he is a package deal with Chatman, with the potential of getting Anderson. Considering the DLs, UT are getting in the 2018 class, Lit,Lawless and Emerson, one project, would be well worth it, imo

Watching Griffins film, I'm pretty sure he would have been Dooleys 2nd or third best High school DL recruit. We've really come a long way.

There is no package deal that will make Anderson want to come here!!! It's not happening!!! Chatman would be an excellent pick up without Griffin but I don't see us wasting a scholly on Griff. JMFO.

Haha. Maybe, but the kid is a competitor, with good feet and swim move, imo. Put 30 lbs on him and he will be a contributor, in a 6 man, DT rotation, by his sophomore year

I think coaches should say hey we will take you but your buddy doesn't cut it. Maybe they can set him up at AP or something :)

so, is that a commitment??
