'18 GA DE Jamarcus Chatman (Former UT commit 6/25/17)

Not arguing/doubting you but Simonton a few posts above said it was a "mutual parting of ways." Sounds to me like they didn't think he fit.

As far as Anderson goes, they were recruiting him at UGA (and he commited) while not even offering Chatman. So it isn't as though one was required for the other.

Think of it this way. Coaches are professional salesmen. They will use every angle to get you to ‘buy’. The angle Tn had that no one else had was playing with your childhood friend since 6th grade. Automatic card every salesman would play in any and every situation. Tn coaches weren’t going to give away their edge or ace card. Professionals get the player they want, then cut bait (see LSU), not the other way around.

You don’t throw away a good chance of a program changing player with seven days to go. You build your program off guys like Anderson, guarantee he will minimum All SEC barring injury. He can literally take over a game. You bring them both in on OV this weekend (as was reported and rumored), take your swings and if you don’t get the game changer, Chatman still has 6 weeks to look instead of 7.

Edit: also meant to add, that was a quote from his coach. So I do realize he has his players interest in mind but the above is realistic. Not saying they wouldn’t have cut him, but knowing Pruitt, he would like his chances with any player face to face on his home turf. He’s a closer.

Okay, but he was scheduled for an OV this weekend. If he decommited because of uncertainty over the coaching staff, why would he do it less than a week when he's supposed to be here to meet them? Why not wait and if this upcoming weekend doesn't go well, do it then?

I'm not trying to be argumentative. I liked the player and looked forward to him coming here. But this doesn't feel like it was his decision is all.

edit: Just saw your edit. Guess we might not know and perhaps it doesn't matter.

Pruitt is a good evaluator guys! Sweet

For college success he's fine.

Just don't expect us to produce many more NFL stars like we have in Dobbs, Kamara, Hurd, Sutton, DKjr., Bituli, and Warrior.

Our guys on Sundays will be the Derrick Henry's and AJ McCarrons of the world. Guys with significantly more college success than NFL success.

Oh, god no!

A decade-long streak of conference and national domination would just SUCK! I’d much rather produce one good NFL player every decade or so than winning all those silly college football games.

Hurd is a Baylor guy, can't claim him. Dobbs won't be a starter, dkjr can't stay healthy, bituli and warrior are still to young to tell...

I know right, Jesus Christ, I'd rather win national championships....

Good. I love seeing VFLs do wellbin the pros but I’ll happily take them being drafted in the first round after a couple championships and a Heisman.

Hurd played 3 years at Tennessee, I'll always look at him as a Vol.

Dobbs will be the best QB of NFL history.

DKjr, Bituli, and Warrior are all future pro bowlers in the NFL.

Late night drinking will make you think that way.... Peyton, Brady, Montana, Marino, Bradshaw, Brees, aikman, young, moon, rothlisberger, elway, favre, Cunningham, Rodgers, rivers, Ryan, etc all disagree with you...

Hell Watson, Wentz and Prescott are already better then him. I like Dobbs but you need to be a realist

I wouldnt waste any time debating QBs with D4H. He literally said Josh Dobbs is the best QB he has ever seen.

D4H is obviously bipolar. You see, he will say stats dont matter. But he will be the first to bring up stats to defend his side if the argument. I mean take his stance on Joey Bosa. Bosa is one of the best pass rushers in the NFL. Now D4H says that he is just lucky and isnt that good.

D4H bashed guys that didnt play well in the preaseason. Yet he praised Dobbs in the preseason even when he sucked big time. I mean the dude called Jalen Hurd the Calvin Johnson of RBs while saying Derrick Henry sucked.

Who cares about what they do in the NFL?

Either you're trolling hard, on serious drugs, or you're "special"(as in your momma dropped you on your head one too many times). If it's either of the first two, please, just stop. If it's option three, well, bless your heart.

You've literally just confirmed that you were a troll. Of course I knew all along, nobody could possibly be as dumb as you act.

You'd be surprised. I've known many stupid people. The problem with people on his level of stupid is their certainty they're correct. Very annoying.

There's a difference between being just another guy in the NFL and being a star.

Derrick Henry = just another guy
Alvin Kamara = star

We won't have NFL stars littering our roster anymore like we had in 2016. We'll now be more like Bama where we mostly just have average NFL players filling up our roster.

I guess you missed the part where I said Dobbs WILL BE the best QB ever. Obviously he's not there right now. He hasn't even played a regular season NFL game. I'm simply projecting his future success based on his talent.

In terms of talent, Dobbs is a combination of Randall Cunningham and Tom Brady. He's got Cunningham's physical tools paired with Brady's competitive spirit.

That is why I say he'll be the best of all-time.
