I think this helps with Young. the source that told me about Garland thinks the Vols will keep Young but we shall see.
Garland gets after people.

I would certainly hope a recruit would pick Tennessee over Tulane... my God

Honestly hope he either picks somewhere else or we pulled the offer. Nothing against the kid but we can use the spot for someone else.

Tifwiw but I am told that the staff really
Likes this guy even without young.

Won't shock me if he's a take

so the vibe I'm getting is that we should pull our offer out from under this kid, but in Walker's thread, it's all about "your word". would be funny if it's the same people talking out of both sides.

We may have told him it was a package deal, and if so that would not be breaking our word.

It's possible we were upfront with him about the conditions of his offer, and it being tied to Young.

well, i can imagine the staff saying " I hope you and Young both come play for us". I can't imagine a scenario where you explicitly tell the kid and his family "this offer is conditional on young coming to Tennessee". I wouldnt be surprised if that kind of recruiting was a violation of some NCAA rule, actually.

It isn't a violation, and conditional offers are made every year. Daniel Brooks and Bo Hardegree, DaRick Rogers and Nance Nash, and Lennon Creer and Denarius Moore are all examples.

so you think Pruitt explicitly told his family that the offer was conditional on young signing with Tennessee?

Wouldn't shock me at all. Is it ruthless? Sure, but this is recruiting and it's a big boy's business. What's the worst that can happen? You offend him and he suddenly doesn't want to come? Who cares at that point...you were doing him a favor. Some of these kids don't care how they get there, just so long as they get there. Tennessee was far and away his best offer.
