No reason to yank it. We aren't gonna fill up this class and you can't bank them towards next season. Save one for a QB graduate transfer, so we wouldn't have to use a blue shirt and use a scholly from next year on him. If that is allowed, I'm not sure on that rule. But you can't carry over the scholarships to the next class, so they may as well go to somebody.

It may or may not be quite as deliberate as that, but like you said, it's very much assumed and implied at the very least. It's not uncommon either. I named 3 cases off the top of my head just in the past 12 years at Tennessee.
