Rome (Ga.) linebacker Adam Anderson recently reopened his recruitment by decommitting from LSU.
On Thursday, Anderson was on Tennessee's campus visiting the Vols with current high school teammate and Tennessee defensive lineman commitment Jamarcus Chatman.
Just looking at the school and seeing things I haven't seen before, Anderson said of what prompted the trip to Rocky Top. Just getting a better view of the school.
It's been a good trip. This is my second trip to Tennessee. I was up for the Florida game last season.
Anderson was obviously impressed with the atmosphere he saw that September afternoon.
It was exciting. There are a lot of fans here and it's a good environment. They show a lot of love to their players, Anderson recalled.
The 6-foot-6, 225-pound 4-star prospect has Tennessee in his newest Top 5 but admits his relationship with everyone in orange is just starting to grow.
They have made it clear they are going to keep coming after me and they have made it clear that they want me to be a Vol, Anderson said.
We are still building our relationship and as we get to know each other we will talk more about how they would use me.
Chatman and Anderson have known each other since they played against each other as elementary age players. This fall will be their seventh year together as teammates and the two have long talked about playing a few more years together.
That's was always our plan when we were younger, Anderson said. We are just trying to decide right now and hopefully if all roads come in then that will be most likely.
However, while their plan is to play together both know they have to find the right fit for them.
Right now we are still debating it. It would be a good thing to do. If it's so then it will be, Anderson offered.
For now, Anderson is still exploring his options and doesn't have a timetable for deciding other than he said it will be close to signing day. Anderson said he's not sure where his explorations are next. However, he has been planning to be in Athens on Friday to see the Bulldogs and maybe in Alabama on Sunday to see the Crimson Tide.
Anderson plans to see the Vols at least one more time before a decision and will continue to learn about Tennessee from the coaches and his good friend, Chatman.
I had already been talking to the coaches a lot and then the fact that he's committed it's given me another reason to look at them as well.
I like the people and the campus. Hopefully I will visit one more time at least.
