He is leaving UGA....he will not play in the SEC. Also this is a pretty big black eye for Kirby moving forward as it will certainly come out about him promising the kid to play etc...because everyone knows he sold the kid a bag of goods.
Not sure how a racist remark by some random guy has any correlation to not winning the QB job.Racism would be pretty damaging View attachment 183602

You may be right, as I can't remember exactly how the rule works now, but you realize that link mentions nothing about sitting out a year? Well, actually it does mention it, but it doesn't mention it going away. The only thing that article addresses is that schools can no longer block a player from talking to certain schools. No, they can't. Schools can't, but the conference might still could.
New NCAA rule prevents schools from blocking transfers
They are lawyering up to try to gain immediate waiver status. Using race is the only card he has, but is nullified because his sister just signed to play softball AFTER this incident. OSU says he isn’t coming to OSU and is likely to stay at UGA. As for promised PT, that is what this was about. He wasn’t promised PT out of HS, that’s ignorance. He pushed the staff to guarantee more next year or he will walk. He thinks he is much better than he is, well, his DAD does. His bluff was called.Racism would be pretty damaging View attachment 183602

If HE played well, was a happy guy on Saturdays, if HE didn’t, he sulked. Notice I never mentioned the scoreboard or team. Every recruit has to be derecruited, some don’t take to it well, Kelly Washington, Preston Williams, and Da’rick Rogers come to mind,
Keep in mind, only the 2nd game of his career.

Is this kid coming to UT? Not sure why this is important or even relevant? I despise UGA, and their wannabe Auburn frat boy fans.
But, is this where we are as a program? Delighting in inner turmoil of another, much mote relevant program? Ugh. We have our own issues.
i ithink the conference can block a transfer w/in the conference. but not an individual school.I've been reading the NCAA and SEC bylaws. I think we need to clear some things up.
1. I see no mention anywhere of an exception to sitting out a year. He would have to sit out a year no matter where he goes unless he gets a waiver approved. (I think most of you already know this, but a few don't seem to.)
2. I see nothing that says Kirby can block his transfer to other SEC schools.
Does anyone have any rule that refutes either of these statements?
They have the power to, yes. As in they have the power to pass a rule that is more strict than the NCAA rule. No such rule exists, however.i ithink the conference can block a transfer w/in the conference. but not an individual school.
that's fine, i uwas just saying tha'ts possible. They have the power to, yes. As in they have the power to pass a rule that is more strict than the NCAA rule. No such rule exists, however.
I guess you could argue that they could hold a special meeting and single Fields out and say he can't transfer. That would never, ever, ever happen. That would get overturned in a heartbeat without a bylaw to support it.
