'18 GA RB Lyn-J Dixon (Tennessee transfer)

No sir not me. I'm on the butch bandwagon. It'd be crazy for us to fire him unless he absolutely craps the bed. He has brought us back to relevancy and I think he can get us over the hump in due time.

I only quoted and said that because his predictions are asinine

Oh, I know. I was speaking of him, not you. Just continuing your thought

"The four-star rising senior running back from Taylor County High School in Butler, Ga., said he decided he “just wanted to go check them out again” Friday during Clemson’s All-In Cookout, and while he’s not closing the door on the Tigers, he remains firmly committed to Tennessee."

Dixon said he’s already planning to visit the Vols again Friday, and he has told Tennessee running backs coach Robert Gillespie “that my commitment to the Vols is 110 percent.”

“They’ve been talking to me a lot,” Dixon said of Clemson, which extended an offer to him on July 1. “They ain’t trying to pull me toward their school. They’re just saying, ‘Just pick what’s best for you,’ and things like that.

“I’m still saying I’m still loyal to my commitment to Tennessee. … I mean, (I like) the relationship I have with the other commits. And Coach G and (head) coach (Butch) Jones and (linebackers) coach (Tommy) Thigpen and all them, I’ve got a real good relationship with them, and I feel the love every time I come up to Tennessee.

“And I know Tennessee, I was their number-one running back for a long time. That’s who they were going after since (I was in) ninth grade, so that’s something I have respect for and what’s keeping my commitment to them so strong.”

The 5-foot-10.5, 178-pound Dixon said he made the trip to Clemson “because of the offer” he received from the Tigers, and he hasn’t ruled out visiting them again in the coming weeks and months.

“What I like about them is, really, they’ve got good facilities and things like that — just the weight room and all the facilities like that, and the locker room,” said Dixon, who’s ranked the No. 294 overall prospect and No. 6 all-purpose back in the 247Sports Composite for the 2018 class.

“Pretty much, I was just hanging out (Friday) with the players. We just did a home-run derby, watermelon-eating contest and some kind of water-balloon toss, not trying to let it bust or something like that.”

This kind of stuff always cracks me up. I'm firmly committed 110% but I'm not closing the door on Clemson. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?:)

Exactly! If you are committed, you take no calls from opposing schools and damn sure do not take visits! I do believe there's a possibility he flips.

At the end of the day he took the visit and in a perfect world he wouldn't have but, the way it read to me, the "not closing the door" comment was the author editorializing and not Dixon's own words.

In all seriousness, if you were given so many official (paid for) visits would you not take them? I am a die hard Vol fan and would definitely go to UT, but I would make sure I "didn't close the door" on other schools so that I could show up and have a good time. Kids are missing out by not going in my opinion. They only get this opportunity one time might as well enjoy it.

I agree, but if you know that you're going to take visits & listen to other schools, leaving the door open for a flip, why not wait until after the visits to commit? If you're taking visits & letting other coaches try to get you to flip, are you really committed?

Per Hubbs

Finally for this weekend tailback commitment Lyn-J Dixon will be in town Friday for a visit after spending last weekend at Clemson. The Tigers continue to make a push for the Vols' future tailback who says ehes remains “happy with his decision.”

Yeah, I believe you are correct on that.

Why can't Clemson land a TB?

As for Dixon, if you are looking, so should UT. Was the Clemson offer one that he was waiting on or something ala Teague with OSU?

They haven put many RBs into the league since Dabo's been there. I'm probably overlooking some guys, but CJ spiller is the only one I can think of hay he's put into the league with much success.
