I just don’t understand the process right now of transferring, seems rigged

Gotta have extenuating, documented circumstances impacting kid's health, safety, well-being. That is the new waiver introduced last year.

The older route, and less likely to be approved route, is the hardship waiver. It has very specific parameters - for example, the hardship or individual needing the player's attention must be within 100 miles of new school. More technical.

Fwiw process of transferring hasn't really changed, except coaches can no longer tell the kid no. The old system was rigged.

Maybe you mean process for WAIVERS.

Jmo but they should just simplify it to 3 cases:

1) Coach leaves before the kid even practices (ie Miami)

2) Team loses bowl eligibility due to misconduct.

3) 3.0+ GPA waiver (after all, this is the ENTIRE reason kids have to sit out 1 year when transferring...academic concerns).

All 1 time waivers. All this homesickness/family member stuff is silly. Those kids can transfer too and sit out a year. Shoot they probably should take a year off if they have a sick mom. Priorities.
