'18 JUCO OG Johncarlo Valentin

It says like Johnson, Johnson is a vol

And also ambiguous. It could mean early like Johnson, or early and with UT like Johnson. A lot of work for a straight answer to a simple request for clarification.

Well considering he is a 3 star on 247 and some do not even count juco's towards that, probably not much, but he is a position of need and hopefully he plays better than the 3 star rating.

Coming out of his high school he was a 4* on Rivals and signed with Oklahoma. He was ranked the 20th best OG in the country. UT coaches are doing the work.

It was much much much more than simply not winning. Dooley didn't catch near as much flack in the way out.

Butch Jones wasn't just a bad coach. He was a legit POS human being.

Not a jones fan, but Dooley caught just as much or more heat on his way out. Especially from HS coachhes in Tennessee

Edit: the main difference with Dooley was that he came off as an arrogant prick to many, but was still basically a good guy. Butch did a good job maintaining an image as a basically good guy who was just incompetent (but now it’s starting to come out that he is/was rotten to the core).

Yes, but to answer his question in regards to team recruit ranking, it would not help us much because right now he is a 3 star and some sites do not count Junior College transfers. Not sure why he dropped in ranking from high school just know that's what he is ranked now.

My post was specific to his concern about him being a 3*. Oklahoma felt he was good enough to sign, and that’s good enough for me regarding his potential talent. We won’t know if he’s a bust or a player until he plays.

Based on the chatter on various sites and twitter, we will be happy with the ‘18 haul.

I guess the best answer is to not worry about rankings in general...Some do not incorporate JUCO rankings and some do... His 3* ranking should also be of no concern. If the staff offered him and he accepts, we must trust the Staff. Lineman don't get high rankings. Hard to image but with all the players out there it is hard to give them all that they deserve. Again, trust the staff.

It’s a UT site with information coming from a poster who brings the good news. The answer should be obvious.

I think it’s smart what we’re doing with the Jucos. Need bodies that can play immediately. Get all you can and the numbers will play out that someone has the skills to be a starter. Also breeds competition. Then if someone doesn’t work out, they have less eligibility and are gone quicker (unless they git of course)

was told by a hs coach in Georgia that Butch was the only coach he had to kick out of his office. This was midseason when he told me this.

For what?

What i was told he wouldnt take no for an answer about a recruit committed to another school. 3 weeks of calling every day had the family and coach pissed off. From what i took though this coach loves him some Saban. Has videos of Saban dancing on his phone.

Our 2nd string OL last year was very weak and got thrown around.. Not really ready to play...

"But have you seen my watch. I love you. Check out the car I drive. I'll make sure you're the chip dip player of every week. Love you man"

It's amazing we signed anyone.

I like watches. And cars. And Barb's dip may have been tasty. Perhaps Barb herself is tasty. All of which is probably enticing if you are a middle-aged poster on VN. As for 17 year old young men, perhaps not.
