Valentin and Jahmir Johnson were HS teammates? Nice.
Its obvious how the staff feels about the current O-Line situation
We will find out if they are as good as advertised;; but it may take a full year to do it.
We all do. Weakest of all positions on a team full of weak positions. Hate we have to go the JUCO route, but it just confirms what we all think we already knew....its Trey Smith and really nobody else who can play at a high SEC level based on what we saw last year. Hopefully theres 1-2 on the roster that can be salvaged/developed with the right coaching.

Hopefully Richmond will come on strong next year and solidify a starting spot with some authority! He was too highly touted to be such a bust! I really do believe it was the coaching that hampered our whole team!!! Let's just hope CJP and company can get it ironed out. These Juco linemen could solidify a very good team for us next year, IMO. Blair was another five star Juco that was a complete catastrophe under the Jones regime. I do not think it's a coincidence.
Pittsburgh Central Catholic still being allowed to run the table to states regularly is a travesty.
Bethlehem Catholic (AAA), St. Joes Prep, and Archbishop Wood (AAAAA) in the East are just as bad.
If I'm not mistaken, Brown got dominated MOST of that game! Anyway, considering he was a vfl, we should have taken the chance on him, anyway. The guy was a monster, he weighed like 350 lb and if I remember correctly, that was an issue. He was also a legacy! I also remember his scholly being pulled just a week or two before Signing Day, if I remember correctly.
The Vols will host several JUCO offensive tackles this weekend, including Johncarlo Valentin. The 6-foot-5, 340-pound guard at ASA junior college in New York was an Oklahoma signee in 2017 but failed to qualify. Hell graduate in May and Tennessee will be his first OV during a new recruiting cycle.
Tennessee is a program that I was interested in high school. It's a school I know about. Everyone talks about what a great place it is. I want to go down there and see if I fall in love with it, he told VolQuest.
One of those telling Valentin how great it is at Tennessee is sophomore offensive lineman Trey Smith. Smith and Valentin have known each other for a couple of years and spoke earlier this week.
I got to know him at The Opening, Valentin said. We hung out there together and we have stayed in touch. I actually talked to him yesterday.
Valentin said he spoke to new offensive line coach Will Friend on Monday and set up the visit. It will be his first official visit in a recruitment that's just getting started. I don't get out of here until May, Valentin said.
I'm going to sign in February. I don't know where else I'm going to visit right now. I'm open to anyone.
