redshirt freshman cornerback kenneth george jr. Of trinity valley community college in athens, texas, announced saturday night on his twitter account that he committed to tennessee.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound george picked the vols during an unofficial visit to knoxville this weekend after he received a scholarship offer from them on thursday, giving new tennessee coach jeremy pruitt’s staff a late addition to its 2018 recruiting class and addressing one of the vols’ most glaring needs.

Tennessee currently has three defensive backs in its 2018 class, but only one of them - three-star brandon davis of river ridge, la. - is a pure cornerback.

George, who’s from lafayette, la., recorded 27 tackles and two interceptions in 11 games last season.
