How did Butch Jones outcoach Kirby? Butch had the better team in 2016 but it took a Hail Mary to beat them. In year two Kirby took UGA farther than Mark Richt ever did. And Richt is a top ten coach IMO. I'm just big on calling stuff for what it is. The Alabama program is the gold standard in college football and there are no indications that they're going anywhere. Saban has lost assistant coaches left and right over the years, but he still keeps things rolling. All that being said, and as I've stated several times before, I'm very confident going forward. And FWIW, I remember distinctively the last 5 years of Fulmer's tenure.

Kirby did not have those guys even close to ready to defend the last play but since Butch spent 50% of practice time on special teams it made sense he out coached him at the end. And Kirby screwed up the Vandy game that year as well. And he should've made Chaney put Sony in. Kirby still has a lot to learn on game day and for all we know, CJP may as well. Muschump was 11-2 and supposely going to roll in Gainesville after year two as well.

You discuss that with Nick? He tell you he was about out of gas after winning his 5th title in 9 years? Quit pretending old man. You're probably too old else I'd just have to whip your arse if you asked me that in public 🤕

Lol he actually took offense to a message board post.

All new HCs will but the one thing UA fans liked about Pruitt and over Kirby is Kirby plays tight when the game gets close. Pruitt on the other hand does not and will not hold back. He can make adjustments at half time and will keep coming.

I enjoy it and not nearly as bad as it was during the Dooley years. And I am sincere when I say I hope Pruitt brings back UT to the top. I enjoy great games not one sided and way to long it seems the games have not been with Saban or Fulmer.:hi:

put a ****ing sock in it man

Since I semi-retired in 2008 and had times to join boards after that then yes I started posting once Saban arrived but I have been through the roller coaster of UA football including probation, the 3 Mike's and in the near future Saban's replacement. It is what it is and everyone has their opinion.:hi:

All opinions are welcome here as long as they agree with mine.

Nah that's bull hell. When it takes a Hail Mary to beat an inferior team you didn't outcoach anybody. Every coach, in every game, makes a handful of wrong decisions at least. You don't go 11-1, beat Auburn like a drum in the Atlanta, beat a great Oklahoma team, and lose to Alabama in OT of the national title and not be legit. They're not going anywhere. Nothing wrong with acknowledging that.

I think they'll take a big step back next year. Opinions are opinions - nothing wrong with acknowledging that.

Why all the ball busting on TW. He's a UA fan that brings good info. I've been here a while and I've never considered him one to start sh!t. He defends himself though, imagine that... There are FAR worse rival posters on here.

Yeah, good poster. Unlike so many of the 15 year old people that post nonsense here. Good info sometimes from opposing fans.

Not my argument but can you provide fats as to how UGA was so much more inferior than the Vols in 2016? Previous recruiting classes would say otherwise

Go back and if not for Hurd, no Hail Mary necessary and all the analysts broke it down to show how Smart blew it not only on the TD but to get to that point with how the return was set up and also having his tallest guy set up behind Jennings. You could tell they had not prepared for any of it. Kirby has not proven to be a good game day coach. Jimmies and joes won it this year for them and most were CMR developed jimmies and joes who had been in the program for a long time with S and C ect. Facts show coaches have not proven they have arrived after just two years. Facts are you have to show a longer body of work. Kirby didn’t become a genius overnight. He’s still panics on game days in tight games.

They're busting his balls because his program has bent Tennessee over for ten years. Too busy pretending like the Alabama program is on the decline, and when someone like him or myself argues otherwise, they can't handle it IMO.

Facts are Meyer, Saban, Stoops, Carrol, Patterson, Richt among others all had it rolling in year two of their tenures. It's far more likely that Kirby is the real deal than him not being the real deal. You can point out mistakes he's made here and there in games but all of the above mentioned coaches have made mistakes in every game they've ever coached. On the defensive side of the ball, he's shown he's one of the best gameday coaches in the business. You don't run Nick Saban's defense for 8 years and have a top 3 defense at Georgia in year 2 and just be kind of a ho hum gameday coach.

Tennessee had the better football team in 2016. Nobody believed otherwise at the time. Dobbs, Kamara, Malone, Barnett, and even Hurd were big time NFL talents. Georgia had talent too, but Tennessee was widely considered to have the most talented roster in the east that year. UGA lost to Vanderbilt, beat Nicholls by two points, and lost to Georgia Tech.

Bull spit. The Georgia struggles show how poorly Kirby coached them last year.

Nah that right there is bull spit. There's absolutely no arguing that Tennessee didn't have the better team in 2016. And what about this year hoss? You in with the crowd that wants to believe Kirby lucked up this year on his way to a 13-2, SEC championship season?

Then what do the Georgia successes this year tell you about Kirby? How well he coached them?

Bull hell. Look at that last play against Bama. How did a receiver get behind the secondary in that situation? He looked as bad as the DE trying to defend the hail Mary while standing behind him. And to think Kirby was a db.
