'18 LA CB/WR Eddie Smith

Bull hell. Look at that last play against Bama. How did a receiver get behind the secondary in that situation? He looked as bad as the DE trying to defend the hail Mary while standing behind him. And to think Kirby was a db.

So one play against Alabama in the national championship game after being 13-1 at the time, means Kirby is doo doo?

You’re talking about the last play in the national championship game, correct?

Think that answers the question

I wish our coach is as bad as Kirby.:)

Don't get me wrong, I'm really confident in Pruitt, but by the time fall camp rolls around, over half of this board will be convinced that he's one of the top coaches in the country before coaching his first game. Adding to that, they'll also think Kirby isn't in the same stratosphere and isn't worthy of sniffing a Jeremy Pruitt fart.

They're busting his balls because his program has bent Tennessee over for ten years. Too busy pretending like the Alabama program is on the decline, and when someone like him or myself argues otherwise, they can't handle it IMO.

More “balls” and “bent over” references...really into your Eastern European porn.

Solid coaching prevents that from happening.

NFL safeties get looked off by quarterbacks all the time. And that's exactly what happened on that play. The corner had underneath and expected the safety over, but the QB looked him to the middle of the field. We don't assume NFL safeties don't get or have never gotten solid coaching, right?

Facts are Meyer, Saban, Stoops, Carrol, Patterson, Richt among others all had it rolling in year two of their tenures. It's far more likely that Kirby is the real deal than him not being the real deal. You can point out mistakes he's made here and there in games but all of the above mentioned coaches have made mistakes in every game they've ever coached. On the defensive side of the ball, he's shown he's one of the best gameday coaches in the business. You don't run Nick Saban's defense for 8 years and have a top 3 defense at Georgia in year 2 and just be kind of a ho hum gameday coach.

Everyone gives credit to those guys but plenty of guys had good year off other coaches players who have failed as well and been fired.

One year doesn’t a coach make

Hey Jacket, I know you and I can agree on this. I hope Georgia doesn't end up being the juggernaut that they appear to be. I'm also pumped about the Tennessee program going forward under Pruitt. I do think he's a heck of a coach.

That wasn't a coaching issue. Tua froze that safety by looking to his right for so long, which kept that safety looking towards that side of the field. When Tua then finally looked left the receiver had gotten past the CB and it was too late for the safety to get to the corner. For one, it showed the importance of an OL to give a QB enough time to freeze a DB on a deep throw, and second it shows the value of having a QB who can bait a secondary with his looks.

Why all the ball busting on TW. He's a UA fan that brings good info. I've been here a while and I've never considered him one to start sh!t. He defends himself though, imagine that... There are FAR worse rival posters on here.

I've noticed that some folks think it is disrespectful to reasonably voice an opinion which differs from their own. I do not think voicing a point of view in plain speech is being disrespectful. I think it disrespectful and demeaning to demand that another person only speak in agreement but never in a way which differs from one's own thinking.

I want Kirby to fail like anyone else who coaches Georgia. I also hope CJP is a great coach. I am not going to get excited till I see results on the field over a period of time. So far so good but no blind support without results. I will always be pumped about Tennessee as a fan but will not coach worship based off anything but wins and losses and my eyes seeing what is happening on the field. Jones really showed what he was by the time his players had four years in the program and he failed miserably. Ga and UT are very different in what each coach is inheriting. If Pruitt is a good coach we will see this team get to a bowl game and play good football but the talent and program is not what KS inherited. Smart may be the best coach since Nick but this year doesn't prove it. CJP may win eight this year and that would be darn impressive. Recruiting as he is right now will give him his shot to build a good program if it continues. We both do want UT to be a top 10 program and we both do want Georgia to always be looking up to us from below. Not where we are at right now but in three more years being top 10 and Georgia chasing us hopefully will be the reality.

Lot of that going on these days. Not just in here, but all over the country..

One thing is for sure. (IMO) The SEC will be more dominant than it has been in years past top to bottom. Better Coaches= Better Teams
