* Defensive back Eddie Smith definitely enjoyed his trip to Alabama and this one has gotten a bit hairy for the Vols. Smith stated that Tennessee led coming out of his OV to Knoxville just a couple weeks ago, but the momentum — or tide — has shifted towards Alabama now. While some close to Smith previously indicated Alabama wasn’t even a factor, the visit blew Smith away. It was surprising — and notable — that both his mom and sister made that trip, unlike to Tennessee. Vols aren’t going to go away quietly here, though. Expect an in-home visit from Terry Fair sometime this week.

Actually per VQ and 247 it's the opposite. He's interested but UT isn't pushing that hard, they like other DB's more. He's an option because he's still scheduled to visit UT this weekend. Personally, I bet he doesn't show up but if he does, and Smith is leaning Bama, they likely turn the heat up.

I meant to type “aren’t pursuing..” but skipped right over it. I must have missed it, but I never saw anything posted indicating interest on his part, but thanks for the info.

Eddie Smith took an official visit to Alabama this past weekend. He’s down to the Tide, Mississippi State and Tennessee. I like where Alabama stands for Smith.

Same thing on the UA side. Apparently ITS we are not pushing for as hard and have E Smith ahead of him. Something must be off with ITS or both staffs feel he is staying oon the WC.

Also our sites are saying that E Smith was not given the green light yet to commit so may be a the perfect opportunity for Pruitt.

Hopefully he can take advantage of this for the good guys.

Wouldn’t be ideal to miss on Smith and the Griffin stay out west.
