It's just obvious his mom is the recruit in this situation and she's making all the decisions for him.
I didn't get that at all from what has been reported. She told her kid what I would tell mine. You made a commitment, you need to stick with it. If you're going to flip, wait till the butterflies wear off and make the decision. I think that sounds like solid parenting. Most of Volnation wants it to be the Tuscaloosa Bagman.
As far as a done deal, I don't buy that either. I think it is an absolute necessity to get the mom on campus with him. With our dline class, and the fact that they had him on the verge of flipping says it's possible.
In the Carvin thread a couple tweets were posted with those two talking to each other.
now I don't know if its harmless tweeting going back and forth, or if he is actually involved. But with that guy?

Seems like every commit glows over him...and Wells.
This. Both are very personable and tireless workers on the recruiting trail, which makes them both excellent recruiters and easily the two best on our staff IMO. If everyone on the staff had the work ethic of those two when it came to recruiting, we'd have 3-4 elite recruiters.
The Vols are treating their final summer camp as a mini ‘Orange Carpet Day’ — with commits like Jatavious Harris, Jamarcus Chatman, Tanner Ingle and others planning to be in attendance.
We recently caught up with both Ingle and Brandon Cross, who also hopes to visit on the 20th, and will have additional updates on both this weekend.
We’ll have a more complete list closer to Tennessee’s camp date, but aside from Horn, the two other biggest visitors to watch remain defensive tackle PJ Mustipher and tight end James Mitchell.
Tennessee will host its final recruiting camp of the summer Thursday before turning much of its focus on Team 121 as training camp begins at the end of the month.
The Vols have had a productive summer on the trail, adding blue-chippers Greg Emerson, Adrian Martinez and Brandon Harris, among others, in just the last two months.
With 17 commits currently in the boat, the Vols have already filled a number of needs in their 2018 class, but they host several of their top remaining targets tomorrow.
As VolQuest.com previously reported, 4-star defensive tackle PJ Mustipher will make another visit to Knoxville. The Maryland native has been to Rocky Top several times and is zeroing in on an announcement, with Tennessee, Notre Dame and Penn State, where he tripped last week, in the mix.
