I've always thought he was a Memphis fan. He was at the 1 vs 2 bball showdown in 2008 pulling for Memphis.

Chesney's an entertainer and a non-idiot. When he has put UF or Bama hats on, it was when playing college bars on campus. If he walked out in a UT hat in Tuscaloosa no telling what a drunk Bama frat guy may do. Guess he could've refrained from donning any collegiate gear all together, that's the only other option. But why not play up to your fans who are paying your salary?

At one time I had collegiate and professional gear from everywhere I visited, just as a souvenir. I'm a STL Cardinals fan and despise the Cubs but everyone in my family picked up something from the Cubs gift shop when we had the opportunity to attend a game at Wrigley. I've owned a t-shirts/hats from UF, Bama, SCar, AU, FSU, Duke, NCSU, Harvard etc. all as momentos. And yes I've worn them in public. Doesn't diminish the UT diploma on my wall or my fandom.
