Simonton covered UT for AJC and SECC before joining VQ. From reading his posts and seeing him on videos in the short time he's been on VQ he seems to know his job pretty well.

Knowing your job and knowing the board are two very different things.

Didn't say they weren't. Lynx said that he's new to his job. I was just pointing out that he's been covering UT for awhile before going to VQ. He's not new to covering UT Athletics.

I don't think the coaches know exactly who's where on the board, I think that's what's going on. After having quite a few running back's visit already this spring maybe things have changed…

If that's so..that's a little concerning is it not? Not having our top RB targets fully identified by now, is way behind the eight ball. I mean SC has been all over Teague for months now. I don't know, but surely they aren't that discombobulated.

Should have clarified that I was referring to his knowledge of the staff's recruiting boards. Personally, it will take at least a little time for me to trust his recruiting information, especially when he has already made claims regarding prospects very different from those made by 247 (e.g., Master Teague).

I just meant that maybe a couple of these RB's that came to junior day really impressed and maybe now they've jumped up the board a bit. Boards seem to change like the weather.

Not all that concerning. These spring combines and summer camps are all about identifying talent. Some guys rise up as freshmen and sophomores, but then come back to the pack as their peers catch up to them. Some guys don't break out until junior year and get discovered at these regional combines, 7v7 tournaments, and camps. Very few shine early and keep improving throughout high school. Thise are the cream of the crop. The board is very fluid up until the end of these guys junior years a lot of times. If this discussion is being had in September, then it's concerning.

Don't expect any big time gets (especially out of state) until we prove our stuff on field

He's probably lying about not having a LSU offer lol. Looks like he is just wanting attention right now .

Franklin is the number 5 or 5 running back in the country. Unless they think we have a legit shot at Zamir, who is higher on their board?

Franklin and Teague are rated too high. Gotta find those really good 3* RB's.
