'18 NC RB Jamal Currie-Elliott

RB recruiting this cycle has been weird so far.

I kinda feel like maybe this year's talent crop at RB isn't as solid as year's past. Hopefully we'll get lucky and all three of the guys we took in 2017 will show promise this year.

Wants to decide this summer.

The four-star junior running back from Durham’s Hillside High School told 247Sports’ Ryan Bartow on Tuesday that the Vols are back on top among the more than 20 teams pursuing him, just ahead of Virginia Tech, following his visit to Tennessee last month for its first junior day of the year.

Elliott said he's already planning to visit the Vols again April 22 to attend their spring-ending Orange and White Game after returning to Virginia Tech on April 8.

“What caught my eye (at Tennessee) was (running backs) coach (Robert) Gillespie and (head) coach (Butch) Jones,” said Elliott, who’s ranked the nation’s No. 208 overall prospect and No. 8 running back in the 247Sports Composite for the 2018 class.

“Coach Jones actually had me in his office. We met. We talked good things, how they wanted to use me. They just basically want to use me like (former Tennessee running back) Alvin Kamara, and that’s a good thing for me.”

Sounds like whoever gets the last visit will win this one.

Which Combo would you guys rather want in this class?
1. Teague/Elliot
2. Teague/ Franklin
3. Elliot/Franklin

What about Pledger? Probably a long shot, but he just said Tennessee stood out from his top 8.

He would be Oregon's first commit of the 2018 class. Some of his recent quotes on the offer.

In my eyes, it's my best offer. Growing up, Oregon was a school I always liked. Of course, it was my dream school. For me to have Oregon, it's a dream come true. I like the style of play. I think that style of play fits me best. I'm a versatile all-purpose back, so I just feel like I fit perfectly with Oregon.

He gone unless the 8+ hour flight changes his mind.

LOL… How does he know the style of play, when the head coach was just hired a couple months ago? It's no longer the Kelly/Helfrich offense that's in Eugene.

How do you lose someone that's not committed?

There are about 500 or so players in the Top 500. Any we don't get, we lost. Any we haven't gotten yet, we are playing catch-up. Come on, you've been around long enough to know this.
