Agreed on both accounts.

That's why I have no problem with taking all 3 JUCOs, the grad transfer, Carvin, Lane, and Antonutti on the OL this class. It's a lot of spots to use on the OL, but we have 6 healthy guys on the OL at the moment.

Hall might have played his last snaps.
Niehaus has some sort of lingering injury.
Tatum probably still needs a RS if he's ever gonna add the strength to be a good OT.
Brooks and Johnson didn't look ready at all last year.


If we can, we should take all of those guys on the OL and let the cream rise to the top in 2018, IMO. Try to get some guys like Tatum a RS.

THE SKINNY: Tennessee’s previous staff offered the JUCO offensive tackle, but Pruitt & Co., has convinced Johnson to give the Vols a real look. Interestingly, Johnson will not enroll early. The 6-foot-6, 290-pound offensive lineman has already taken visits to Missouri and Arkansas.

imo, i don't think you can have enough O linemen...if we have any shot at getting that kid out of Cleveland OH, i'd go after him too. the teams that will compete in this league, are the ones that have O lines that can handle the front 7's you're going to see. everybody plays defense relatively well, to freaking outstanding.

get me a road grading O line, and that's the path to a division and maybe sec title.

load 'em up.

I know some folks don’t like us going JUCO route, but I’m impressed at how quick CJP has attacked this weakness on the team to attempt to shore it up. He ain’t messing around.

Didn't realize it but according to Arizona Western's roster he is just a R-FR, if we can land him he'll have 3 years here.

Very impressive imo. We have a rea shot at 5-6 top 50 juco guys

I don't mind loading up on JUCOs this class in order to win next year. Let them do that and allow the staff to build relationships for '19 in order to land talented HS players.
