'18 QB (Grad Transfer option) Gardner Minshew

Like Troy? Where he walked on and couldn’t make a dent? Rather go with Bart Harris.

What the hell does Troy have to do with anything? I think I'll trust the guys and Coach's who do this for a living and not random VN posters. Matt Simms couldn't sniff the field at Louisville his first year and now he's on an NFL roster and has started. Cam Newton is another. Doesn't matter how you start it's how you finish. Oh and Troy also had an all Conference4 year starter at QB and a guy who will is an NFL prospect in this year's draft..Hummmm..

This “system” crap is so overdone. Can you make all the throws? Can you process defense coverages. Can you lead? Welcome to the SYSTEM. :huggy:

Absolutely incorrect. It's way more than can you just make the throws but regardless no current QB( JG or McBride) has shown they could be a successful staring QB. They have gotten horrible coaching so we will see what they can do with real coaching. But Minshew would be a great option and Ala and Saban want him bad too.

Maybe one of our walk-ons can skip the JUCO process and save us a blueshirt? Simms and (especially) Newton were recruited scholarship QB’s. Newton stole a laptop or he’d have been Tebow’s heir and prolly wins Urban another Gator Championship. Very horrible comparisons.

But? They feel this guy can?

This guy has a body of work they can atleast get an idea of what he can do. Neither JG or McBride can have that said about them. Plus Ala and AU are also going hard after him. That tells me all I need to know.

Neither has this guy. And Saban’s set at QB...he can kick some tires and wipe off the smudge.

Dude my point was you can't base what a kid didn't do on the field his first year on him being able to play or not. That's crazy.

Not true... JG was a staring QB. Resulted in sacks...
Needed to be a scrambling passing QB. :)

Have you LOOKED at his “body of work”? He doesn’t have one. He hung around at ECU for a couple of seasons and that screams SEC QB to you?

And JG will be playing in a completely different system. He was decent in one he was recruited to play in so no clue what he can do in a pro style system.

Omg I said a full body of work. He's started a few games not 2 years worth and definitely not anything close to comparable stats.

Nowhere close in the teams they played against.

He's got 3500 career passing yards, 27/11 TD to InT ratio, 58% adding % and a 127.1 passer rating. Who currently on our roster has anything close to that. Fact is nobody on our current roster screams they are a SEC QB.

He gets to skip the delayed handoffs and having to run at 340 lb defensive tackles. That’s 1500 yards passing he gets spotted right there. :)

I'm amazed at some of the lack of intelligence you display. I thought living among Ala fans I had seen that level of small football knowledge. You are definitely right there on that level! Congratulations!😉

Last year ECU played 5 teams that were ranked, one who beat AU in a bowl and another we open up with next year. Oh and ECU had a 66 SOS schedule last year..Ours was 47..Not much difference..Just saying..

I haven't reneged on anything..I believe I have more than proven my side of this and most would agree with me. Either way I will trust our Coach's going after him and Chryst than some posters evaluations. I think they are better suited to make those decisions than a message board poster. Agree or disagree??

So he played SEC competition? And ALMOST had 1500 yards passing? :good!:
