JUCO's really haven't been evaluated yet by anyone. I think it's usually around October where the sites actually start focusing on them. This kid will not end up a 3-star. Physically he already looks like an NFL player.

I'm curious. After his "perfect visit" the reports indicated that he would have likely committed during the weekend if the staff had pushed. I would hope that we aren't slow playing him, because he looks like a player that could contribute - though I know that JUCO film can be deceiving. Is the feeling still that we will land him when his decision is made in the next few weeks, or is the staff at risk of waiting too long and him deciding to go to South Carolina?

I understand that you would ideally recruit high school talent, develop those players, and not need to rely on JUCO guys. But, given that we are looking to land a solid crop of high school DL in this class, it seems to me like a flyer on a JUCO end that could contribute day one wouldn't be too much of a stretch, especially given that taking 6 DL has been discussed (I don't remember the thread, my apologies).

What say y'all?

I agree. I want him and he probably starts immediately. Btw, he is a 4 star on Scout and I agree with Mr. Swanson that he could potentially be a 5 star

The bad part is our 5 star JUCO's have been mostly busts and our 3 star JUCO's have been really dang good. We need to land him now as a 3 star

Cordarrelle Patterson was the best juco since Charlie Garner. But, even tho, that seems like 2 years ago, I guess it was over 5. Yes, UT has been missing lately on jucos but I like this kid, a lot

Almost all recruits at OCD commented that the staff did not recruit but rather promoted a family atmosphere, which Is one the reasons a lot of recruits said it was a perfect visit. Of course, staff let the commits who there do the recruiting. So IMO the staff is not slowplaying him.

You are correct. Kenny O'Neal among others...OJ Owens...ugh...still makes me sick to my stomach. Charlie has to be one of the best 3 star JUCO's ever at any school

Poor OJ Owens. He was a heat seeking missle that destroyed his shoulders in high school. I thought he was going to be a star at UT. We got an OL a couple years ago that busted, too. If Justin Martin doesn't do something this year, I guess he will be considered a bust, too
