'18 TN CB Rayshad Williams

Actually, they don't. Vandy has had 4 DBs drafted since 2009, not 2 since 2001. DJ Moore, Myron Lewis, Andre Hal and Casey Hayward.

How many were Masons? 0?
DE1 was trying to spin it like current Vandy and Mason is churning them out when they were all james franklin guys and before.

thx for the numbers though KB. Ill be honest though Hayward and Hal are the only two than can actually play.

From what I can tell, Vandy will have 2 DB's on active NFL rosters. Hal and Heyward.

UT will have 2/3 depending on Coleman. Berry, Sutton, and Coleman. Obviously Coleman wasn't drafted though. Neither group is exactly tearing it up.

Very true but 1 has done better than the other to date.

Hand argument is pretty weak, dude will be their go to DL and a day one draft pick next year

I definitely agree though that no one hits 100%

Nobody hits 100 but I've seen very few gamble like CBJ & Weldon. At UT you just can't gamble like you're still at Cincy with 2* and low 3* talent because Bama, LSU, UGA, SC etc aren't getting any worse

And, who are they gambling on this year exactly.? All those 4 stars coming in don't seem to be such a big gamble to me.

I am pretty sure over the past, lets say 5 yrs they can claim more next level draft pk in their secondary than we can at UT. That's success to me on their end. IJS

Not really. We have Eric Berry enough said just right there. They had three other Db's drafted since 2001. They have five total DB's even drafted in this century. UT has more period.

One last thing, since 2009 even with the little drought UT had, 23 players drafted to Vandy having 13. This is after CPF was let go and our program was in the dark ages. SUCK IT VANDY!

Can't wait for FB to start up. It's like a pissing contest in some of these post. Good lord, some of y'all take stuff WAY too seriously. Gotta lambast a guy for not differentiating between CORNER and Safety. The guy voiced his opinion and some of y'all get butt hurt cause he voices said opinion.

For y'all to be fans of the same team, some of y'all sure do belittle each other.

Praying for FALL, before more turn on each other.

Just trying to set the facts straight. He said it was 4 not two. My statement was CB's not DB's. It ain't church to have a discussion. If you can't argue sports, where is the fun in that? People make a good living at it too?

Most of those people love trashing UT too? Maybe some of our Negas could get sports commentating jobs and leave VN alone. I don't mind pointing out deficiencies but creating them out of thin air and speculation, only to beat them to death is cruel and unusual.

Never fear, the pissing contests will continue after the season starts. I am sure that you have been in this forum after a loss. It gets really fun, then.

We could just not lose and not have to deal with this forum after a loss...that would be kind of fun.

"Butch doesn't consider the other teams feelings. He just blows them all out by four TDs and damages their psyche. Butch is heartless. Fahr Butch!"

There would certainly be some kind of complaint somewhere on this board.

Should have blown them out by 5 scores, we are leaving points on the field.. OR .. if Shoop was a better DC then they wouldn't score as much and so we should be beating teams by 5 or even 6 scores.

Fahr Butch.. blah blah blah

Pick your poison..

Gambled on quite a few 3 star/lower rated players the last 2 classes, 2016 and 2017. One glaring gamble from 2014 class was 145lb qb converted to cb Moseley. Gamble hasn't paid off particularly well.

As far as this year? No complaints, he's rebounded nicely with the new staff and appears to be getting the type of talent we need to compete at a high SEC level at the moment.

Idk if Moseley counts as too much of a gamble though since we had room for like 33 recruits in that class. He actually turned out better than the consensus 4* we brought in to EE alongside him.

Anyway, when you can sign 30+ kids in a class, you definitely get some leeway on the kids like Moseley, IMO. It's not like we passed up a 5* to land him or anything. He was just one of the kids we brought along in a HUGE class that had a lot of 4*s to begin with.

With guys like Moseley, you mainly worry that they aren't physically talented enough. But, I believe he is. It appears to me that it's been a lack of fundamental technique instead of physical ability. If that is the case, then the evaluation was fine. The coaching thereafter was not.

I will repeatedly say that our staff has previously been able to evaluate really well. What gets me is that we have a new DB coach that people seem to love. Yet, people are still complaining even though the VQ article said that Warren personally worked out Cross and Ingle and loved them.

I think Warren is used to doing more with less. Lets see how it works.
